Hi Linda, from Linda.

You should not manually merge and you may end up needing to delete your Business page.

We've been advising all along (me, Blumenthal and Google) not to create a separate G+ page and merge it with your Place page (AKA Google+ Local).

Google is upgrading all Place pages to G+ pages and most have already been upgraded. Only ones that have not been are problem children that are stuck for a variety of reasons.

BUT if you try to merge your G+ page you'll create a dupes and it will be marked as spam.

Also depends how you set up the G+ page and well it's really complicated to try to guess or explain without seeing your pages to research your situation.

I don't think you can post links to your pages here or I'd help you here. But you can post in the Google and your Business forum and I can help you there.

But short of that, best advice is wait for Places to upgraded to G+ because that unified page can be used for social, reviews and ranking.

If you have a lot of followers on current business page, that's another issue. Let me know if that's the case and I can give you some suggestions.
