Google+ for an online only website

Is is allowed to create a Google+ business account for an online only website? Seems like the goal behind Google+ is for businesses with an actual local store location. I only have a website and want to keep my physical location private. Any advice if Google+ is for me or not?

avalon337,

It is not a good idea. It is an unnatural behavior that may affect your site adversely. I would advise to have an office location especially if you are selling something and verify it on Google+. It will be useful for you only.

Appreciate the opinion. However I see a number of online only companies such as Overstock.com who have a Google+ account and does not have any actual "stores".

major sites such as mentioned probably have a registered address in the record, somewhere. Why not see if there is a way to enter a registered address and to not show it.

Am I missing something? There are several different page types, including one for a company without a singular physical address. I'd choose that one as you're not just a local business.
