Gmail creator Paul Buchheit gives Google's Chrome OS a vote of no confidence
Google’s Chrome operating system isn’t even out of its beta stage yet, and Gmail creator Paul Buchheit is already predicting its demise.
“Prediction: Chrome OS will be killed next year (or 'merged' with Android),” Buchheit posted on messaging network FriendFeed.

While it seems like a good idea (like the iPad) in practice I don't see a need for a separate OS for this. If they can beef up Android, that might make more sense.

Has anybody actually played with a copy? I'd be interested to try this out on an old underpowered machine to see if it has any benefits before I condemn it.
