Ads approved but not eligible

A couple of ads that I created in AdWords were approved by Google. However, when I mouse over the "Approved" status, I receive a notification that "This ad is not eligible to run on the search network".

The ads are set to Search Network Only. Any idea why they might be approved but ineligible to run?

Hi Andiamo,

This isn't actually that uncommon for new ads, especially if Google has little or no data on the destination URL.

My experience is that the add _will_ still run - albeit with reduced frequency - whilst Google evaluates its various quality indicators, and once satisfied that the ad is relevant to the query it will start to run at full frequency.

Great, thanks Dmorison! That's a load off my mind.

The ads are still not eligible...does it typically take this long to get them off the ground?
