Account suspended
Before even starting.

Someone recommended I buy an adwords voucher on eBay and signed up and all went fine setting up. I schedule to run my ads end of the week but today I receive an email stating my adwords account has been suspended! I have read that I could never get reinstated. Ouch!

What should I do?
Does it track by the site you intend to advertise?
It is fine if my details are block but not the site I hope as it was my fault to buy the voucher and the whole company shouldn't have to pay for my actions.

Can anyone advise?

You're probably out of luck; you won't want to use the same URL, IP number, name or credit card.

They'll get you from the stored cookies if you use the same PC again.

If you use Wi-Fi, they might even get you if you use the same Wi-Fi access point ever again.

If Google have your GPS location (because you used a mobile phone to access Google at some point) they might still get you even if you change everything else.

so does it mean that google will punish a whole company for my actions. I don't know how to tell my boss. I feel stick to my stomach right now. Well I don't know if I will have a job tomorrow! It is my fault as I though I could buy a coupon and use it for trial and error.

I check my old adwords account running for a site I managed for a relative and it is still running and ads are still showing up. I haven't touch it over a year. It charges something like $50 a month so I just left it.

Anyway I can appeal or have my employer/company appeal? I have been reading up about this and I didn't know I couldn't have 2 accounts - even for different companies. Who would have known right? It is like one of those TOCs that you just don't read and accept. I don't really know if it is because of the coupon or the double account that I am being suspended for. If I knew it was for double account I would have just use the same account I had but it is for a different company so that is why I opened a new one.

I have used Adwords before but I am honestly a newbie and if you remember when you were a newbie, how possible it was that you make a mistake. I saw many google ad from google offering free coupon and I thought there was nothing wrong with using coupons but I knew I wanted a larger valued one and bought one off ebay. I read before that some hosting companies give it out as promotional and I have seen google books with adwords vouchers so I don't really know if it is the voucher issue or anything else or me having 2 account or the source of the voucher from ebay. Ok I got to stop guessing else it will drive me nuts. The account is suspended already and my quest is now how to unsuspend it or at least have my company be able to advertise again perhaps with another colleague's details.

Just thought of it, how about sites that sell their company or domain. Wouldn't the first owner have advertise with his account and then the new owner after acquiring the url, advertise with his new account? Well...I am really confuse and just want to get out of this mess somehow. Can someone help?

Not your fault and I don't see why they'd cancel the account over a coupon, you think they would just say the coupon is invalid and let you enter a credit card account.

Contact Adwords and ask them to reinstate your new account.

Google probably has their satellite trained on your parking lot taking pictures of who used the coupon, or they're sending the Google street view car around your block a few times.

And by the way - legitimate coupons are a dime a dozen. All you have to do is take out a gmail account or an analytics account or a google places account and eventually you'll get one.

Unfortunately, nobody here can help you. But you can try hitting up the official AdWords help forum, or you can call support and see if you can get a sympathetic ear.

However, if you do, you will probably be under extreme scrutiny, so if there's anything you haven't mentioned - Google will know about it.

Dear All,

The most amazing thing happened. My account has been reinstated. I was all prepared to tell my boss (hope no one ever finds out but well at least he will see I've learnt my lesson - I should come clean with him on this too).

All I did was emailed Google and told them the whole truth (like you said the probably know what color knickers you have on) and apologize. So it is a NOT true that Google does not listen. Google is a Gentle Giant that did listen to my email.

I must agree finding the support contact form or email or phone was tricky but I don't think it can get much better than what they did for me. They responded and were very quick at that too.

All in all, here is what I take out from this lesson. - Don't take into schemes that sound too good to be true. You'd never think you'd be the sucker right?
- Read all terms on conditions where it matters.
- Don't ever do anything that may jeopardize things that matter.
- Always tell the truth
- Apologize when you are wrong and learn from it.

I had my stomach feeling physically in knots earlier. Now I am kinda charged up and today's feeling preety great!

Was the second adwords account setup under the companies name, with the companies credit card ?

If so, you do not have two adwords accounts. You have an adwords account, and the company has an adwords account, and you are just an employee of the company, assigned to manage the companies adword campaign (probably from your own personal experience).

Contact adwords, they should be able to get the issue resolved.

UPDATE: Glad to see it all got resolved while i was typing my response. Did they ever say what exactly you did wrong?

There was no real answer ...well from what I interpreted:
There was an interruption in your normal ad service while we reviewed your account, and we apologise for the inconvenience. As you might know, we periodically review accounts to ensure the highest quality ads, verify billing information and maintain account security. Per our Terms and Conditions (https://adwords.google.co.uk/select/tsandcsfinder), ads can undergo review at any time.

We're happy to let you know that the review is complete. We prioritized the review of your account over other queries you may have
written to us about ...

Well I guess that Google can look into anyone's account anytime to we should all know that. I am so happy anyhow.

By the way I used my own personal credit card as the company I am with is new and long story short they are in a rush to setup things and I had to use my cc first. I hope I can change it later? I travel quite a bit and charge to my personal card and the company reimburses me directly so I thought hey no problem with using my card.

You used your own CC but you I'm assuming you entered the company's address and phone number in Adwords since it is their account. The CC check failed on the info Google has vs the CC and that's why the account was suspended.

All new accounts will be verified so the information the credit card company has must match what you give Google.
