Any Luck With Ads on Google Images?

 2:34 pm on Nov 7, 2010 (gmt 0)

Has anybody had any luck at all getting ads on google images to run? Even if I pay the top price with a quality score of 7 the ads still don't show up. The ads are perfectly targeted to the search terms so it would be an exact match.

Are the ads not showing at all, or are they just getting very low impressions?

Even if there's nothing wrong, ad performance (either text or image) on the content network can vary a lot, depending on the sector.

I run one campaign that gets millions of impressions per month for its image ads, and another in a different sector that struggles to get a few thousand. There are way fewer pages dealing with the second topic so there's way fewer places for AdWords to put ads.

I think soona99 might be talking about Image Search, which is not through the content network. I brought this up a month or so ago and no one chimed in so I assumed no one was using it.

Soona, a Google employee told me if you are bidding on keywords for image search that are also keywords in your standard search campaigns, your image ads won't run unless they have a higher CTR than your standard search keywords. Perhaps the Googler was confused himself, but he seemed to think that Image Search and Standard Search were in a sort of competition.

Yes, I was talking about ads on Google images. That seems like a weird answer from google since one is a text ad and the other is an image ad.
