Are google paying market rates for AdWords/AdSense
Do google pay full rate for their AdSense clicks?

I'm seeing more and more of googles own ads on my pages where I display AdSense.
Anyone know if google are paying market rates for these clicks or are we sending them cheap traffic?

Never mind - my original response didn't reference your pages....

Google claims that their ads go into the auction the same way everyone else's does, and their ads have to outbid the others available in order to run.

I'm guessing they don't have issues with quality scores, however.

Thanks, is there any official googlr clarification of this?
I would hate to be sending them free (or cheap) traffic

Probably not. If you're that worried about it, then block them in the competitive filter.

Depends if they are taking advice from the reps offering to optimize their accounts.

Google ads definitely don't have to play by the same rules. Look at the term mortgage. Google comparison ads go past the normal text limits. I can't imagine that the follow some rules but not all the rules. If their doing this in the mortgage vertical, I'm sure other areas are soon to follow. I shifted my money for my mortgage accounts away from Google since, they get an unfair advantage. I will do the same with any other industry they enter.

The best is to test. Block them for some time, then unblock.
