|Adword client putting own Adsense as internal links?|
Smells fishy or what?
I just stumbled across a site that has on its home some buttons pointing to internal content but they are actually Adsense links that points back to the internal pages they are supposed to link to.
I can't imagine how this could be legitimate. Is that some kind of scam, just fishy, or did I miss something?
So the site is advertising on the content network, using Adsense, and only targeting their own site?
Sounds like a big waste of time and money.
They have Google Ads on their homepage that when clicked brings you to an internal page, going through an Adword / Adsense redirection.
The ads are not regular Google Ads, but they are image buttons with a text like "See what's new on domain.com" or "Subscribe to our free newsletter".
It goes like this :
[What's News button on Homepage] --> googlesyndication/pagead/ --> [What's New Internal Page]
All on the same domain, except the Google redirection process.
