Is CTR tied to position as it relates to Quality Score? Or when starting a new campaign/account is it always a good idea to bid as high as you possibly can to get the highest CTR possible?
I guess what I'm asking is, say I have my bid so high that my ad shows in position 1 and my CTR is say 8%. On the other hand I could bid lower, my ad might show in position 4, and my CTR might be 4%. Maybe a 4% CTR in position 4 is actually better than an 8% CTR in position 1...
In terms of how it relates to quality score, I assume G's system is smart enough to factor in the fact that a higher position almost always results in a higher CTR ... so maybe when trying to get a new account/campaign up and running it's more important to just pick a position you're shooting for and try to get the highest possible CTR from that position, instead of focusing on bidding more to just get a higher position and thus higher CTR?
