It seems you have to download the earlier version, or have AdWords editor 4 on your system, then go through to upgrade to V 5

How do You do that? I see the message, but I don't see any newer v. than 4.0.0? I've reinstalled the Adwords and still the same... How do You upgrade? Sorry, I'm a bit confused.

The Placements tab is just a renaming of the Sites tab. I don't think it offers any new functionality.

I've peeled through everything in the release and cannot find anything new other than the tabs mentioned. AWA -- any advice on this or info on the missing release notes?

G seems to do this with each release of Editor (new version first, release notes later). I would expect to see the updated release notes sometime today. I'm not sure why they can't sync the updating of the release notes with the release of the Editor and avoid the confusion.

| rmay, the release notes will follow in a matter of hours - as anticipated by Philosopher. Philosopher, I'll make sure that the right folks hear your feedback - by sending them the link to this thread. AWA

| The updated notes are now live: [google.com...] If you open the page and don't see 5.0, then please refresh the page and you should be good-to-go. My apology for the delay. AWA

Works for me. AWA, you can pass on this feedback - the mere fact that Google puts this tool out is of *GYNORMOUS* value to me. Having spent a good portion of the past month or so trying to get mass quantities of ads and campaigns into the Yahoo and MSN ad programs, and having to struggle with buggy interfaces that are just unbearably slow, I appreciate the AdWords Editor more and more every day. There's simply no better way to manage multiple accounts with lots of campaigns, ad groups, and keywords. It's not perfect, but it's still head shoulders knees and toes above the competition. I'm all about what makes my job easier - and the AdWords Editor makes my job easier. Yea, I'm gushing, but you would too if you just spent the whole month wrestling with ... the other guys.

Cant agree with you more netmeg, Adwords editor is a great productivity enhancer. I have been so frustrated with MSN's buggy interface, that I have stopped using them for now. Wonder when MSN will come up with something like Adcenter Editor?

Exactly. It takes me hours to do in other programs what I can do in minutes in the AdWords Editor.

adCenter Editor (or whatever it will be called) can't be that far off. I saw a little bit of it during the summer, so surely we'll see it soon. It would make a tremendous difference.

"Is there a Linux version? Am I missing something?" No, i don't think there is a Linux version (but hopefully soon there will be one) I tried to use it with the WINE packet but it didn't work very well.

Some may also have to change screen resolution to see all the tabs as there is no scroll bar across the bottom of editor. 'Campaigns' is the last tab viewable on the right hand side, if you can see this you have a resolution issue.

| Sorry that's meant to read 'if you CAN'T see this'. Alternatively if you can't see the Google logo in top right corner, you need to adjust your screen resolution.

I had a major problem with the new editor over the weekend, where it wouldn't upload my changes (which were mostly deletions - I'd taken one medium sized campaign and broken it down into three smaller campaigns and reorganized the ad groups and keywords) Kept telling me that it couldn't post the changes because it would have exceeded my account limits (!) I'm nowhere near my account limits as far as I know, and I was trying to *delete*, so I don't know where that came from. I put in a support request, and they escalated it to the engineers, but, I'm just saying - this one might not be baked all the way through yet.
