Using numbers for keyword matching

Hi one of our brand strap lines, 'cashier number 3' includes a number in it and we will shortly be doing some press releases with this strap line within the title and generally throughout the body of the text, therefore I want an ad show when someone types in this strap line in to Google including the number.
Anyway, I have set up the ad and the keyword but for some reason Google does not pick up the number when I use {Keyword:...} into the ad description? Also if I set up the keyword, 'cashier number 3' as an exact match, nothing shows up on the search?
Does this mean I can't use numbers as keywords?
What about companies like 3 mobile, they have 3 as their keyword.
