I don't want to be one of those people that replies to myself but... I just noticed something else. Version 4 is also much faster and more responsive than older versions. Enjoy!

I also am finding much faster downloads (of full campaigns and stats). Other new features: * Ability to upload changes from single/multiple campaigns rather than Posting all changes at once. * A tab for editing mobile ads - (is anyone doing this yet?) * reorder the columns

I see a new tab for Mobile Ads, and the ones for Sites and Negatives - were they there before? My short term memory is not good. The Release Notes only mention version 3.5, though, so I might not be catching all the new features. Still can't set it to remember passwords though, which is mildly annoying. And the custom dates are great, but I'd be happier if they just matched the Console (Month to Date is one I use frequently) One problem - the new version appears to have wiped out all my comments on the Campaign and AdGroup level. That's kind of a pain. Does that normally happen between updates? Bleah.

Actually, you could reorder the columns before.

Thanks for posting about this sharewarepro - you even beat my colleagues on the Inside AdWords blog to the punch. ;) By the way, release notes are here: [google.com...] (If you went to that page earlier today, and didn't see notes for version 4.0, you may need to refresh the page to see them now.) More info on Inside AdWords, including the info quoted below, which I wish netmeg had seen earlier (sorry about that netmeg): | ...To avoid losing unposted changes or comments, we suggest exporting an archive of your account before upgrading. After you've completed the upgrade, you just need to download your account and import the archive file to get your account up and running. |

When I fired up AE, it just asked me if I wanted to update, and I did. Maybe there should be something about the release notes in the update notification.

The release notes are found in the File Menu under Help ¦ Release Notes. Per AWA they are updated now at the link above.

I was hoping the new version paid a higher ecpm.

Great. How big is the cliff between AdSense and AdWords control panels now? The size of grand canyon?

Seems to be taking up more of my PCs resoures (can't switch between apps when it's busy filtering, etc.) but I'll take that trade off any day when faster downloads and stats viewing is possible.

I had a problem on upgrade from 3.5 to 4.0. During the installation screens, I selected the "Just Me" radio button instead of the "Everyone" radio button (in terms of who would using AdWords Editor on my computer). After install I tried to launch AE and got an error message. After some trial and error I found that if I selected "Everyone" during the install everything worked fine. I have a hunch that if you don't choose the same preference you had on your last install that you'll have a problem. In any event, posting this so if anyone else has the problem it might help them fix it.
