i was also convinced of this and can swear we discussed it here at WebmasterWorld months ago. in fact, i think i used data from hourly reports to derive my dayparting settings (but perhaps I looked at cart data back then, can't remember, but really feel i pulled reports within adwords). yesterday i went to run a report on a new somewhat campaign and the two reports that have hourly data do not have any of the conversion tracking fields available as selections to be included on the report.
did hourly conversion data info in reports go away or did we never have it (i'm getting old!)?

In the 'report types' hourly reporting is only available at the 'ad group', 'campaign', and 'account' level reports.
If you choose one of those report types, you can segment data hourly.

If you are using Google conversion tracking (not analytics), click on 'add or remove columns'. This will open up all of the options that you can add to your report.

Was doing that and no conversion [x] box is available.
If you can see this maybe I have different Reports, google or Analytics ;¦

eWhisper, thanks for your help so far, a tad more and we may get to the bottom of this.
doing exactly as you say regaridng choice of report type, but as soon as I select "2. Settings"; "View (Unit of Time)" as either "Hourly (by date)" or "Hourly (regardless of date)", the conversion tracking (not analytics) data choices below, under "3. Advanced Settings (Optional)"; "Add or Remove Columns" are removed.
The green choice box area, where you add or remove columns, has a section called "Conversion Columns : These columns provide statistics on ad conversions and conversion rates". Choosing either hourly unit of time makes those choices disappear completely.
If I ignore that I can't choose the desired columns and run the report anyhow, the conversion data (naturally) doesn't include those columns that I was unable to choose.
Can you try picking either hourly unit of time and tell me what happens for you?

Rhinofish is Correct. When choosing the "hourly" time scale for the report, you cannot show hourly conversion data. Now, why is this? Seems to me that this information is extremely valuable, especially if you want to use ad scheduling to its fullest potential. Does Google just not collect that detailed of info? I doubt that's the reason...

Ahh! I see what you're talking about.
That's a new bug. You should be able to run that report (you have been able to in the past), but for some reason the interface isn't letting you.
Seems Google needs to get that one fixed.

got the "i'll pass it along that there's interest in having hourly conversion data reported" answer.
explained that as both a ppc consultant and an affiliate, i don't always have access to the cart's back-end conversion data - so seems adwords reports (since i'm trying to optimize my AdWords dayparting settings) are the ideal place for me to see this data - and G should have it stored, so please make it available.
rep explained that certain combinations aren't possible, and was certainly courteous and friendly, but i got the feeling that the significance and meaning of my request wasn't received well and am left with that "that's the way it is" feeling.
i should have asked for a ticket number or something. i think if one was offered, without my asking, i'd have that feeling that it's now an open issue there - instead of feeling like the end of my call was also the end of this request.
i didn't handle it properly i think - not a people person today.
oh well. :-)

I think they will have to have this data available at some point soon. It is available in msn adcenter down to the keyword level, which is a great report.(I never thought I would say that I wish Google had a report that some on else had)Last I checked, however, the conversions were in pacific time and the clicks in my eastern time, so the conversion rates were skewed especially in the morning and evening hours. I wonder if google is having to answer these types of questions in order for this type of report to be accurate.

I reported this bug to Adwords product management a few months ago during a presentation. The funny thing was that they were convinced too that this feature was there but when checking they could not find the checkboxes to select the various conversions. Without this feature dayparting is virtually useless (unless you use other measuring systems)
Hope they fix this one soon.
