With the new landing page algorithm now kicking in it is impossible for us to load keywords into some of our campaigns. We expected that because my helpful account manager kindly forewarned me. It has to be a good thing in that there are a lot of pretty useless directory sites out there and it's hard to see how they offered any value to the user.
However one of our sites effected is a small contact lens price comparison service, it's our data and we generate revenue through affiliate links.
We've loaded keywords to a mock campaign for one of the large price comparison services and they're not effected!
So we're not allowed to promote a price comparison service on a Cost Per Action basis, yet they can on a Cost Per Click basis? Does this mean you can promote a price comparison service on Adwords but you have to be a large well known company, or you just can't do it if you're generating revenue by CPA?
I am seeing the effects of this already, for one particular search term there are a few more shops on the first page of adverts, but then there are three adverts for different sections of the same well known auction site and three well known price comparison services.
