It started some time back [UK], but as no-one has mentioned it, I thought I better.

I got lucky! PIP just popped up. Reckon if I'd left it few more hours, I would have missed out. :)

You are exremely lucky, ChanandlerBong. Once there was a time when the cut-off point really was cut-off. You must have done it at the magical time. Any longer, and like you say, you would have missed out.

They shaved three bucks off this month's total. I can live with that! That means I'm delivery solid clicks, which is what I want.

Oh, thank God. I thought Google went out of business and would never pay anyone again. I'd be lost without this thread which is so appropriately pinned to the top of the page. Brilliant strategy! Why waste the best real estate on heavy conversation? I'm going to rethink my entire business model now that I understand how to promote quality content. Thanks WebmasterWorld for showing me the ropes.

I agree with you. I did - and still do - call PIP, Pointless Information Posted. I was informed by one of the mods that people actually like being told that it has started. Go figure.

If you do not like it here, there are other forums that I am sure would welcome you. This forum is what it is. Stop bashing it.

This forum is what it is.

A forum is what the participating members and the mods make of it.

Because of this thread, I have an even greater appreciation of how to use certain types of content in my day to day business. This is turning into a very productive conversation, for me. Call that bashing if you like. I call it making a silk purse out of a sow's ear. Opportunity is everywhere.

Yea well, if your goal is to come in change the existing culture, you're doing it wrong.

On the other hand, if your goal is to spew a lot of sarcasm and look like an idiot, then, congratulations!

Nobody is making you read or contribute to this post. It's plainly marked as to what it contains. It can exist perfectly fine outside your bubble filter, and you can skip right over it.

So why don't do you do so?

Really, where is it explained what PIP even stands for. Guess any idiot can figure it out with an Internet search that filters out all the most common applications of that acronym or asks the question as above.

"Can someone clue me in? What is PIP?"

How many months running does some new person have to ask that questions before someone else gets a clue that it might not be obvious what the title of this thread even means to a new visitor?

if your goal is to spew a lot of sarcasm and look like an idiot, then, congratulations!

I've been called worse throughout the course of challenging people to use their brains and bring something meaningful to the table and I'm certainly not here to make PIP pals. This industry is in a state of upheaval and the conversation has dwindled to "PIP" squeaking. Really?

Satire and sarcasm are valid forms of communication but who says I'm being sarcastic when I say I learned something from this thread? It's not what I wanted to learn and I'm under no contract to reveal the contents of my moment of Ah-ha (which seems to fit perfectly with a "culture" that appears content to keep repeating the same things over and over again without ever drawing a conclusion). I never said I was perfect. Payment Processed and earning more.

We weren't talking about any idiot, we were talking about you - the item is marked, so you can ignore it. You know what PIP means. If someone new asks what PIP is, they invariably get an answer.

You have plenty of other items to put forth and derive something meaningful; you don't need to attack the people who choose to participate in this one. It's just that you choose to.

You know what PIP means.

Yup, after spending an hour searching the Internet some months ago. I searched because I saw a post in another thread about giving the PIP its own thread. Who would have thought such a paltry concept would have it's own acronym. You on the other hand like to dance around valid points. Changing the title of this thread to actual words (something difficult to manage for a lazy person) would strip any number of redundant posts from this board over time and unpinning this conversation would have the effect of making a lazy person scan down over worthwhile content rather than making busy people work to find something of value.

Added: I can sense the mods getting ready to act on this line of discussion but I doubt it will be because you call me an idiot again. Seniority appears to have its privileges.

Does the recent "Red Bar" indicate the cycle is ready to start for February? I still wonder if there's a relationship between the appearance of the Red Bar yesterday and today and the looming PIP cycle. Inquiring minds want to know. ;)
