Updated Top AdSense Earners list?

Years ago, lists of the top-earning AdSense publishers used to get passed around fairly frequently. But today, those numbers are long outdated.

Does anyone know if there's a list from the past year or two? Or even without names, how many publishers are earning $50,000 a year? $100,000 a year? $200,000 a year?

Just curious.

The other, and it irritates me beyond belief, is that the majority believe that I sit at home all day watching TV and maybe occasionally type the odd bit of junk in for the website business.

I *love* it when people think that about me.

A few suggested adjustments added -

Earned-Publishers--Total
$0--------100K-----$ 0M Tier 0
$50-------700K-----$ 35M Tier 1
$100------800K-----$ 80M Tier 2
$1,000----300K-----$ 300M Tier 3 (top 15% of publishers)
$10,000----70K-----$ 700M Tier 4 (top 3.5% of publishers)
$100,000---25K-----$ 2,500M Tier 5 (top 1.25% of publishers)
$1 million----2K-----$ 1,000M Tier 6 (top 0.1% of publishers)
$10 million---50-----$ 500M Tier 7 (top 0.003% of publishers)

It is not easy, trying to logically juggle the numbers, while keeping the known facts in mind (2M publishers, $6B revenue).

Is this a little closer to reality?
I am assuming more of a Poisson distribution rather than a normal distribution, due to the nature of the beast.
I used Excel to get the figures to add up properly.

I've given advice on how to do this to quite a few people, encouraged them -- not a single one has bothered to open an account. All it takes is signing up for Adsense and going through the steps, and creating a blog or buying a cheap domain/hosting on Godaddy. That's it. But they won't do it.

That's ok. More for us.

They also think I don't "do" anything. I could do *more*, yes. If I were doing what I *should* be doing, I would be working 80-100 hours a week, churning out content, updating sites, etc.

You actively create competitors?

I much prefer the ones who are actively discouraged. "Gee, no instant rags to riches in one week?"

Not exactly. In my case, it has been a lot of work. Worth it, yes, but not by any means easy.

Because one more in 2 million (well really 2 BILLION because that is a WAG at how many actual sites are out there) is just the straw that breaks the camel's back?

But being the one who pointed someone in the right direction to achieve their dreams is pretty damn amazing.

Doing what we do successfully is not easy, but it is that easy just to get started - to take that first step. And given the spread of nationalities I have inferenced is on this board, simply $100 a year here means a whole different thing to some.

Sure, it might be cost of hosting, or the cost of a family vacation, or the note on a car, or it might become an income. But in all cases, it makes life a little easier. And it is nice to be part of that.
