My traffic has also slowed down some but I haven't lost that much of it. It was busier the past couple of weeks but not as busy as it should be for the time of year.
I just keep on adding pages and say the heck with what these search engines think about it. More than half my site's pages have #1 positions according to GWT, but it doesn't help if those pages aren't being searched for. So at this time I'm more interested in folks sharing some of my stuff and have recently added buttons so they can do just that.
Somedays I think that I might just be building my site for myself and my own use (and I do use it quite a bit), but that's also how and why I started it back in 2000. I redesign it when I feel like it needs a change, I've learned how to make it responsive and did that, I learned how to speed it up and have done that too. I just keep on learning whatever I can to build it better. So again I say, the heck with the search engines. Do I have an attitude? Yeah!

Keep at it don't give up!
I was way down in 2012 and recovered.
Hopefully you saved some of the $600K for times like this, can weather the storm and come back strong.

My traffic & earnings (according to AdSense) are about 10-25% what they were yesterday. Something doesn't make sense - but that's AdSense for you. I'm sure when you check in the morning earnings will look a lot better, but historically when AdSense stats are this delayed more than 2/3 through the day it's just a bad day that cannot be explained. Yesterday was one of my best days of the year and now all of a sudden no one is coming/click 24 hours later? I don't buy it - it's AdSense....not your site.

Well if her traffic is only 1/10th of what she's expecting, it's possibly not all AdSense.
This is typically a good time of year for me, and everything looks about as expected.

With all the office parties lately, Sally's site should be booming ;)

If I lost 90% of my traffic I'd be looking for the cause. If you find the cause and it can't be corrected then I'd agree your horse is dead. Time to find another horse to ride.

A dead horse is worth money these days, just ask the UK supermarkets. ;)
My site is down on traffic. Partly due to the season, mostly because of Google's image search alterations.

Things are not so bleak, after I took a few hours off to go buy a new Mac (last minute deductions needed, you know). I returned, and things have picked up a bit.
Delayed reporting seems to have been a factor, as well as office parties?, and probably some other factors unbeknownst to me.
@Breeks - Many thanks for the encouragement. Yes, I saved plenty, knowing the unpredictability of AdSense.
Having my traffic steadily more than halved from January to December has been discouraging. I jump through all the hoops (authorship, Google+, etc.) to no avail. I still keep going downhill. There is LOTS that we simply do not get to know.
Last January saw a huge jump for me. I hope that this January is similar, but I wouldn't count on it, since I have no idea why last January was so great.

Delayed AdSense reporting just like I said.

Emulating sidekick Ed McMahon on the old Johnny Carson show -
"Yes, sir, you are correct!" (loudly)

In my case, I would drop the word "image".

Welcome to the ever growing club!

These days a "good" month's earnings are what I would have considered marginally above average for a week when I started out. Considering that I now get about three times the traffic you can imagine what the CTR looks like now.

This week between Christmas and New Years is always dead for me. Even though I know that, it still makes me uneasy. I just wait for January and things, knock on wood, always get better.

Also keep in mind New Years starts almost a full day ahead of the US, so people ringing in the New Years from around the globe for about 24 hours and then all the in between time of the holidays when they are away from the computer, it is almost like a blackout day. I just hope December 2013 over the previous year isn't a sign of what is to come in 2014.
