Ok, I'm glad SOME of you are still human and make the same mistakes.
Like I said, my bad click was subtracted and removed within an hour. It's probably a very simple automated process of comparing the IP address of the click to the Adsense acct.

I'll click on other sites' ads sometimes as a "favor" even though I'm not particularly interested in the ad. One is a Mac shareware site that use from time to time. I think I might have mistakenly clicked on my own ads one time, maybe two.
|3 times over the last 10 years. |
Always the same - fell asleep with the mouse in my hand.
Each time, I duly reported myself.
I've done it about the same -- two or three times in about ten years. Usually when I was clicking somewhere else and the pointer jumped, or a window unexpectedly popped to the front.
But I didn't know you could report yourself for mistaken clicks. How does one do that?
I've clicked ads about three times in the last 9 years, the last time was probably about six years ago. That's really because I don't even look at the site as much as I used too. (I trust the pages are working as planned).
I did report it each time, just a quick note explaining exactly what happened (date / time), apologizing and asked them to please discount the click.
I wouldn't sweat a single click. One click does not make a pattern of abuse...
>>In one word? Never.
i agree, i've been with adsense since about day 15 of the program and have never clicked on ad accidentally (or otherwise).
for me i don't hang out looking at my own sites for hours, so maybe that's the reason.

They must not be very good then.
It was easy to click accidentally when using a touch pad to capture the url of an ad and I used to happen about twice a year without any complaint from G. Once I started using a mouse again its probably happened once.
With fat fingers like mine its very easy to click accidentally on a smartphone but I have never done anything that would link the phone to my Google account.
Think I accidentally caught a link once many, many years ago, but hit back on the browser so quickly I don't even know if it registered.
Never Clicked my ads up to know
I just misclicked a youtube ad, thinking it was someone else's video and not my own... the ad was so enticing I didn't even think to pay attention.
Use and Ad Blocker extension on your browser, so you will never ever click an ad (even by mistake).
In most cases google discount that misclick if you are logged in your own adsense account. I notice that my own impressions are always taken out.
But I do accidently click on it once in a while. Don't think there's anything to worry about...(unless you start mass clicking your own ads on a public computer like libraries...)
