I really don't think the Google Adsense team are out to cheat anybody. For the most part they are very helpful. Now the Google search team that's a whole different subject.

Dunno why they freeze some times and clawback other times.
Why don't you send an email to your Google Optimization Specialist and ask?
10:32 pm on Jul 10, 2013 (gmt 0)
You're probably right and I hope you are. Staying ahead of the publishers who cheat, knowingly or unknowingly, with a system as huge as Adsense is and the staff that they probably have, cannot be easy. But, they could do more to help those of us who are trying, instead of accepting collateral damage, because they can. I'm sure from their side, they just see this sea of views, clicks and publishers
How do I get a Google Optimization Specialist? The one question that I've asked using the support ("hah"!) system was answered by a bot (essentially).

If you really feel that Google is cheating and lying you need to stop using them as an advertiser and find one you trust.
Completely agree. If you don't trust your business partner, the it's time to find another.
I've been with AdSense since 2004 and I never once felt Google was cheating me.

Spend your time figuring out how to add several zero's to your page views instead of complaining about Google on here.

I'm sorry I'm not as knowledgeable/experienced as some of you holy-than-thou's.
Your original post stated something like Google is a cheater and liar. I'm sorry if I took your post as written. After all, I cannot tell if you're exaggerating or if you're telling the truth.
I still stand by what I said, if you really felt cheated, then you should find a new business partner. I wouldn't do business with someone I didn't trust.

Turned out to be a nice profitable day yesterday, don't know why I was worrying :-). Already well ahead of my monthly target, looks like it's going to be a good month again, I think we'll be having turkey again this Christmas.
10:55 pm on Jul 16, 2013 (gmt 0)
Really stuck today!
11:31 pm on Jul 16, 2013 (gmt 0)
Sorry to hear it JCKIine. Oddly enough, I'm having the best day all month. I'm more and more convinced that clicks are being held days over for validation. It's the only thing that makes sense for such wide swings in CPC and click counts. Hopefully there's a bunch of super clicks headed your way too!
3:00 pm on Jul 18, 2013 (gmt 0)
Clicks slow to update today, or is it just me?
3:22 pm on Jul 18, 2013 (gmt 0)
considering it's only 1620 p.m. here in the UK, my earnings are quite good. I should be around £80 ahead of my monthly target by the end of today. I've noticed that I'm earning more money now from individual clicks which is really satisfying.
3:32 pm on Jul 18, 2013 (gmt 0)
Just checked again and some clicks came in, guess it was just a hiccup. Congrats on the earnings. July has so far proven to be the slowest month this year for me. But I shouldn't complain.
7:38 pm on Jul 18, 2013 (gmt 0)
1 click here all day! STUCK AS STUCK CAN BE!
10:09 pm on Jul 18, 2013 (gmt 0)
Not that stuck, but definitely been pretty stuck for several hours now.
1:25 pm on Jul 19, 2013 (gmt 0)
If things carry on as they are this is going to be another lucrative month. 10 clicks alone on a skyscraper unit, and a 336 unit at the end of my content brought in quite a bit yesterday. Honestly, skyscraper units are absolutely brilliant when placed in the left-hand column above a menu. According to the statistics, these units are just behind my bottom 336 units for earnings, but only just.

Google's impressions stats look normal so far today, but the click stats MUST be stuck. Guess they just want to take a day off from admitting that they're data is lagging.
7:36 pm on Jul 22, 2013 (gmt 0)
Mine appear to be lagging and the EPC keeps jumping all over the place. Messed up day.

Maybe it isn't lagging; just being lost entirely.

My CTR according to Google's numbers today is down 89% compared to the WTD, MTD, YTD average. And it just so happens to be the day enhanced campaigns becomes mandatory. Typical Google software bugs.
12:22 am on Jul 23, 2013 (gmt 0)
Yea but turns out they didn't actually throw the switch on enhanced campaigns; it's gonna be a "slow rollout". So whatever your issues are, it's not that.
4:13 pm on Jul 23, 2013 (gmt 0)
Impressions climbing well, but clicks stuck for four hours, and CTR dropping to ridiculous levels. Will there be a click dump, or does Google suspect I was overpaid and this is their way of clawing it back? The saga continues.
4:54 pm on Jul 23, 2013 (gmt 0)
I dunno; I'm having an awesome day EPC wise.
6:08 pm on Jul 23, 2013 (gmt 0)
EPC is great here, but 4 or 5 hours with no recorded clicks. Either a clickdump forthcoming, or this is the way Google mess with the stats making it impossible to know what's going on. Certainly nothing wrong with the site or hosting.
6:19 pm on Jul 23, 2013 (gmt 0)
Really stuck here for many hours.
9:56 pm on Jul 23, 2013 (gmt 0)
I've never quite understood all these Rpm,CPC figures. I basically only look at how much money I have earned per number of clicks.
For instance, this is my report so far today,I've had 4172 page views, 18 clicks along content,0.43% on CTR,£.52 on CPC,£2.24 on page RPM, and earnings £9.35 p. I know that we don't normally mention how much we are, but I'm hoping someone could tell me if this is average, good, or very good?
9:58 pm on Jul 23, 2013 (gmt 0)
Is there no edit feature on the forum? I use a speech recognition and sometimes don't bother to check what I've written only to find I have made some mistakes.
12:36 am on Jul 24, 2013 (gmt 0)
You can edit, but only for a short time.
7:46 am on Jul 24, 2013 (gmt 0)
Ironside, I think some stats aren't supposed to be published according to Google's T&C. Your CPC is good, but CTR a little on the low side - I bet you could improve it.
My clicks often don't budge for 4 or 5 hours in the afternoon. I've never had an hour without some clicks, but there doesn't seem to be any catchup these days. Frequently the morning starts of well, and the whole day looks very promising, and then in the afternoon, virtually nothing! By evening, things start moving along normally again, but I'm left with this twilight zone where I don't earn.
9:29 am on Jul 24, 2013 (gmt 0)
And just after I say that, this morning, virtually no impressions registered and not a single click. The reporting is really messed up.
1:30 pm on Jul 24, 2013 (gmt 0)
Zara: thanks for the information. The value of individual clicks has definitely increased over the last few months and am now earning a reasonable amount of money from not too many clicks. However, I've done a lot of testing with my ad units and to be perfectly honest, I'm not sure how much more I can improve the layout. I value anyone's opinion on my layout and if anyone can see room for improvement then please let me know. I've tried various layouts that a lot of people considered to be the best planning layouts but they haven't really worked for me. For instance, wrapping text around AdSense blocks is supposed to be very effective. I tried that didn't really work for me. Actually, my best performing at this are actually units placed at the very end of my content, contradicting what people say about putting ads above the fold.

Ooops, not sure if the edit feature is still on here, but the forum doesn't allow the posting of URLs. You're a rule breaking renegade on a running streak today. ;)
I found google search doesn't do much for me, and a banner near the top of your homepage helps. It's a double-edged sword, because it will undoubtedly bring more Adsense earnings, but at the same time, can make your site look a bit spammy.
On the content pages, have you experimented with different colours? I tend to use blue as it looks like the old fashioned hyperlinks, but some sites do well with red or something else that catches the eye.
336x280's do well for me. Perhaps you can add a few of those in the content somewhere? You seem to have scope to add just a few more ads.
