Google 970x90 banner ads problem
banner ads not showing

Anyone else using Google's 970x90 banner/image ads? Their banner/image ads show 728x90 ads. While text ads show the right size (970x90). Anyone experiencing the same?

I didn't even know there is a 970x90 banner. Since it's quite new, and advertisers haven't added the new size yet, they are serving 728x90 instead.

Nor me. Who would want such a banner anyway?

I'd rather see sizes like 500x100 400x100 400x150

The more diverse the ads sizes the better when combatting ad blindness and adblockers.
Obviously the advertisers need to get on board.

For text ads: why not make them whatever size we chose ? Would make most sense if you look at "responsive design" etc.

I agree, but that wide ? It's a bit excessive IMO. I cannot see it displaying well on some platforms.

Yep, I am up for that too.

Heh, talk about the least responsive ad size ever.

Don't think I've seen one in the wild.

You're right. 970x90 fits perfectly on my site that's why I thought of using it. Since their banner/image ads only are blank, I ended up not using them.

I'll give them more time til I'll use them again.
