Google to Close AdSense Program
All AdSense Publishers Should Read
2:16 pm on Apr 1, 2013 (gmt 0)
Dear AdSense Publisher,
Over the last few weeks, the AdSense Team and Google's management have been evaluating the AdSense program. Due to shareholder pressure, we are being forced to decrease the publisher's share to an average of 3.1%, requiring us to significantly reduce our payouts.
We have determined that we simply cannot attract quality websites at the payouts we would be able to offer going forward. We believe that allowing AdSense to continue to run on the sorts of sites willing to take such payouts would lead to a bad user experience.
This is a difficult decision for all of us at Google. However, after much deliberation this seems to be the best course of action despite the impact it will have on all the employees, clients, and partners who helped build this business. Publishers will be paid for their clicks through midnight, May 31, 2013 (Pacific Standard Time). We ask that you please remove all AdSense code by this date, as relevant ads will no longer be served and any clicks will no longer be paid.
Note that the $100 threshold must still be met. Any publishers not meeting the $100 threshold will have their balances placed into a pool, which will be used for offsetting the cost of distributing Google Glass to communities in Africa.
For any additional questions, please contact Google through the usual channels and we will respond with the same efficiency you have come to expect from Google.
Thank you for being part of the AdSense community!

True. They are only really successful if they 1) look like they could be legitimate and 2) piss a lot of people off.
(I've done some killer ones, but only every ten years or so, so nobody expects it)

They would have to be extra dumb to just read the first message. It was clear on the first reply that it was a joke.
Google removes programs/projects all the time. I don't think it would be dumb of someone new to fall for the idea that Adsense is over.
True, that is why places like wordpress and blogger exist.
And a lot of dumb people have a website.
If I had it my way, people would have to take an IQ test to enter the gene pool too.

Good thing you don't have it your way!

Yep, otherwise it will be the death of The Jerry Springer Show, Hardcore Pawn, Maury, Swamp People, Jeremy Kyle Show etc.

Shark Tank is a great show; probably my favorite on TV.

A poor man's version of Dragon's Den.

The thing I do not like about Shark Tank (and Dragon's Den Canada) are the presenters. They think the show is for them.
What I do like about ST and DDC, is the lack of double/triple/quadrouple negatives.
