This is typically my worst month of the year, but it actually started out pretty well. October was way over September, but way behind last October. But I was expecting that. I had to let some sites go neglected due to lack of time and care of an aging parent.

I'm hoping to get a manual "unnatural linking" penalty removed this month - so hope I see an upward turn -- any kind of boost would be nice.

Picked up yesterday and off to a good start today. Next Tuesday is election day so I'm sure it will be low $ day with everyone watching results.

I'm seeing a CTR (and thus earnings) lift with the new arrow ad units.

October was great, but November has a slow start (low eCPM). Let's see the first week....

Units that are meant to display 5/6 ads are now only displaying a single, large, tenuously relevant ad.

Don't know if it's a coincidence, but after hearing horror stories about redirecting rogue ads from the 3rd party network, I blocked them all, expecting about a 10% reduction in earnings... To my pleasant surprise, CTR and earnings have risen. I'm sure it will stabilize lower eventually, seems to be a glass ceiling of sorts. Just happy we didn't take a big hit blocking 3rd party ads. Your mileage may vary ;)

| I believe this is what caused our CTR to increase about a month ago. Our ads, though, are very relevant.

I haven't posted here in a long time, so here's what I'll say: CPC is at an all-time high for me. However, CTR is at an all-time low. As a result, there is lower earnings. Ads are in a very prominent. What's funny is that just a couple years ago people were paying single digits (in cents) for each click, yet I was making a lot more money. Today, people are paying four times as much (sometimes even 6 or 7 times, depending on the day), but CTR has fallen so much that I'm making less money. Although, I've noticed many, many, many "invalid clicks" being taken out. Basically, the clicks are reported in the "performance" tab but don't show in the "home" tab. Then 30 minutes later the performance tab matches the home tab in terms of clicks/money (and it's lower than first reported). Seriously, anyone know why this is? Could there possibly be that many "invalid clicks"? I've been a member of AdSense since they first released and know not to ever click them or tell people to click them. Yet so, so many clicks seem to be taken away.

Invalid clicks are non-existent here. My source of traffic is premium so no invalid clicks. Check your traffic source.
