I just logged in to check stats and it happens to have been right when the day reset. The charts look different and actually go below zero now? Is it theoretically possible to lose money with adsense now?

Just curious.

heh, I've never seen that, but if you ever see it again, grab a screen shot.

That's Google's new demonetization program. They withdraw money from your checking instead of depositing it.

Google announced a few weeks ago that if you're earnings are below a certain level, they would actually CHARGE YOU to use Adsense, as it costs them money to host ads on low earning sites.

That policy has been in place way back since June 2003. Whether they have actually charged anyone I don't know, I suspect not.

Wouldn't be surprised if it were true. Almost sounds plausible.

I tried to see it again tonight but missed the reset moment, ahh well. The charts in the performance reports used to start at the bottom with $0 and had $0.50, $1.00 above but now that line is in the middle with a ($.50), ($1.00) etc line below. I'm sure it's just the graph code and you can't lose money but it was funny to see.

if I remember correctly thats a very rare bug between to of their servers in the backend refreshing data at the same time.

this is not entirely untrue, but the wording is slightly wrong. They do not lose money on low earning sites, they lose money on sites with a really low eCPM and many impresions, it can even be a huge community with significant earnings.

Thefore customers have to pay for DFP with larger volumes...
