Will the downwards spiral continue for some of us? Why do the supposed big earners hardly ever post?

Confused? "These questionsóand many othersówill be answered in this month's episode of...AdSense."

Just to get back on subject, earnings are starting to look good every other day this week. The line graph looks like a mountain range, but it's much better than a flat line. If the trend continues, today will be the low point.

You know, JCKline, mine is looking that way this week too. Every other day. It's actually up over last year even at the low points, but the high points are really high, and they're every other day. Bizarre.

The line graph looks like a mountain range

Yeah, thst's my story this whole month. Much bigger swings on a consistent basis than historically.

Still for the month as a whole, the daily average is higher than I expected.

The big swings make me wonder if there isn't some bigger than usual hold back for click review happening. Then post the accepted clicks the next day.

@netmeg
> I tried that with the Bing ads, but the advertisers just weren't there.

I got in OK but like you, the advertisers in YPN and the earnings were just a small fraction of AdSense. I ended up shelving YPN pretty early on, though I did like that there was another potentially large player in the game.

I see the same pattern. Basically a saw tooth up and down.

Really lagging today only at half of what I had at this time yesterday.

I was wondering the same thing. Today is staying on the low side as expected with the recent "mountain range" aka "saw blade" trend.

I don't have many mountain ranges. Mostly foothills and plains these days.

After two days of "bad but believable" my stats for yesterday were back to "just not right".

Below average days - CTR stuck to 0.8 % - traffic & engagement increases. Revenue's specked by amazingly large clicks, not seen for quite some time.

Remarkably - interest based ads increased 4 fold compared to 2011 (jan - may) Now round 8 %.

Although IBA's increased revenue (normally captured by other publishers when IBAs % was much lower) I suspect my revenue has dropped more because of Ads spread out over many other sites due to IBA.

@IncrediBILL : My prediction is when Bing hits about 40% US market penetration that AdSense will start to pay attention to AdSense webmasters but by then it will be too late.

I agree - Google search domination has peaked with SERPS increasingly dominated by big brands with shallow info / Flyer / Brochure talk. The only way is down, fiercer competition is inevitable.

For Google to squeeze even more revenue out Adwords / Adsense? I can only think about 'cooking the books'.

But probably at Google they (still) laugh hard at:

"I can't find what i'm looking for, well try Bing"

And back down it goes. Yesterday earnings down to about 25% of average. Click count stopped moving in the afternoon, traffic was normal. Hopefully today will be better.

Another day of stuck stats. That's two-days in a row here. Updates are becoming further and further apart.

I could live with that if I thought the clicks were coming through eventually, however I'm convinced there's been major data loss this month. It'll take one mother of a click dump to make my figures believable.

The past week has been a new low - ads over many sites seem moderately relevant.

What Netmeg suggest earlier this month, Adwords seen many changes lately. This probably makes a bunch of advertisers struggle to get the results they were used to. A quick look at the Adwords forum just now seems to hint in that direction.

Today is Sunday, right? My revenue is never good on Sunday, but today looks great. Yesterday was OK, but the down part of the "saw blade". I thought the uptrend would skip today being a Sunday, but no, up it goes. :)

Last week has gone in the books as one of the lowest in earnings since 2010.

The shown ads in the review center indicate a whole group of niche advertisers has left the stage.

Hopefully it's just temporarily / incidental - relearning Adwords. The niche had done well over the past 2 years. (At least on my end)

Totally dire Sunday, the second 12 hours of the day hardly yielded anything for me...one of my lowest impressions, CTR and earnings' day...Easter was better that's how low it was.

UK and Canada performances were particularly bad.

Netmeg does so well that when you cross the state border of Michigan the sign reads:

if you know what's good for you, you won't ask about the "state bird"
