Are you going to attend? It's a good opportunity to get your voice heard. If you have something to say then get off your butt and say it to their faces. :)

I've been to one of these and it's a great opportunity to give them a reality check of what's happening on the ground. I know of one guy who had his site reinstated into the AdSense program due to a glitch/oversight at Google.

Here is the list of cities that the AdSense show is coming to:

Sacramento, CA Tuesday, April 10

San Diego, CA Thursday, April 12

Los Angeles, CA Friday, April 13

Montréal, QC Canada Tuesday, April 17

Philadelphia, PA Thursday, April 19

Detroit, MI Wednesday, May 2

Columbus, OH Thursday, May 3

Washington DC Wednesday, May 9

Boston, MA Thursday, May 10

Oklahoma City, OK Tuesday, May 22

San Antonio, TX Wednesday, May 23

St. Louis, MO Tuesday, June 5

Indianapolis, IN Wednesday, June 6

Salt Lake City, UT Tuesday, June 12

Denver, CO Wednesday, June 13

Hmm, Detroit. Is there a link somewhere to get more information on these?

There is a registration page up but it's not been publicly announced. Those are the dates though.

I've been to one of these

I know, we were both there, my wife too :)

It's a great chance to pick their brains and if you play your cards right and pay real close attention to what's going on, especially focusing on the AdSense team laptops <grin>, you might just learn something the rest of the world isn't supposed to know, maybe even get a leg up on the competition.

... or dragged down into the parking garage and 'taught a lesson' for being nosy :)

Of course once you know too much it's impossible to help others because they cover their ears and chant "fanboy" when you try to tell them anything so I just keep it to myself now.

Seriously though, I think it's worth going at least once. If for no other reason than to meet some Google people and get inside contacts. Hearing issues raised by other AdSense publishers was also interesting, wasn't like the typical stuff posted on WebmasterWorld daily and surprisingly (!) many of them had never even heard of WebmasterWorld, which was astonishing.

Thanks for posting this! First time I've seen one in my actual city.

Where are the details for these new dates? I don't see them on the Adsense blog when I search for the city name

Edit: Nevermind, I found the registration links in the messages area in the dashboard once you're logged in to Adsense.

Yes, I recollect they were coming to Melbourne, well south of me some time back.

Why? I wouldn't spend my $2.50 concessional inter city train fare to Sydney to listen to Corporate BS from kids.

To tell them they once had a good scheme which is now not worth a "big drink in a brewery"?

Have video or other accounts of past sessions been made available anywhere?

That might be a blessing. Considering the tone and content creeping into more and more of the threads here, this might not be a good time for the Google AdSense board at WebmasterWorld to try and make a good first impression.

I once suggested that this board be split in two, one for complaints, problems, Google-bashing, etc. and one for positive, helpful, grow-my-business type threads. Consider this my repeat request.

So it would it be an opportunity to meet the chickenheads who messed up Adsense? Or would it be, instead, an opportunity to meet PR people who want to spin Adsense as being the best thing since sliced bread?

Possibly neither. There may have been an engineer and an evangelist hiding in the ranks when I went but based on the discussions I had, I think it's mostly the same people that are responsible for customer facing on a daily basis and one of the previous AdSense Advisors were there, so meeting ASA in person was fun, and I've met a couple now, when we still had one.

If you think you're going to get Google search questions asked, don't even bother making the trip, they know AdSense and that's it.

Why? I wouldn't spend my $2.50 concessional inter city train fare to Sydney to listen to Corporate BS from kids.

I was skeptical too, didn't learn too much but didn't leave empty handed either. Did some networking, scored some contacts, plus got a few tips and hints about stuff you won't find in any forum. YMMV, especially with that open minded approach :)

Made the same request a time or two, not happening. The only solution was consolidation of threads into the monthly "AdSense Earnings & Observations" thread which became the subforum basically.

Besides, I don't think the tone could get much worse that what I've read on Google's own forums, holy cow! LOL

I enjoyed the one last year and plan to go again. The best part was meeting other Adsense publishers in person. And, of course, being able to tell my friends that I met with Google :)

(FWIW, the tone seems to be significantly more useful in the supporters forum, though I don't think there's an AdSense specific forum there. Maybe there should be)

In my experience, if it's free and you have the time, go to a Google event. You always take away something. I am considered something of an expert in AdWords, but I go to every seminar that ever comes close by here (and those actually cost money) because I always learn something new, and I also end up giving away every business card I take with me (not to mention scoring a few helpful email addresses for rainy days)

This is the first time I've seen an AdSense event near here; dunno yet if I can make it (haven't found details) but I am going to try.

Anyone sign up for Adsense in their city. I just got a mailer and I signed up for the Detroit one in May. My first question is going to be "What the heck is going on with earnings lately?"

Well get to the bottom of this yet.

If you guys want any questions asked email my inbox here at webmasterworld and Ill compose a list to give to them. Please nothing too nasty.

Well I pretty much know what to ask for myself and the board, but sometimes its better to have more information for a question. Then, I can be most confident on the questions im asking and how to ask them.

Im just looking for the right questions to ask and how to ask them. And ill submit them to the adsense team at the meeting before the conference starts.

If they want to answer them then thats great, if not then that is fine too. But, we all complain here and have our theories, but no one has bothered to actually ask them whats going on so I will give it a shot.

You could ask them something quite novel like:

"How about better lines of communications with your publishers?"

OR [one of my pet hates]

"Why can't payment history be listed in reverse order with recent history first?"

ASA was going to get back to me here about that one but never did.

AIYC tour was officially announced in the Inside Adsense blog. The post has a link to a form to request an invitation.
[adsense.blogspot.com...]
I received my invitation to apply last week by snail mail.
I was beginning to wonder if I would get one since my revenues have declined recently.

Nothing near me yet. Timing wise Salt Lake City might work for me as I'll be passing thru the area about then.

Can you attend even if it's not really your city?

The application form offers a choice of all the cities on the tour. But only one choice of city per application.

I don't really browse other forums for Adsense other than WebmasterWorld (I prefer the company of grownups personally), is the negative tone similar elsewhere?
