Was a domain transfer properly done? If the whois no longer points to you, it would soon become evident you no longer control it.

No need to notify Google. Just remove it from allowed sites, make sure the buyers don't upload your content with your ad code on it (just to be safe) and you're done.

NO do not notify them.... just make sure things are transferred correctly, remove it from your webmaster tools, etc. and stay low on the radar
