To help locate as many people as possible having the issue, I've also been tweeting about it, (and sent a specific reply tweet to @AdSense)
The Google help forums are fairly useless, official replies are few, far between, a day late and dollar short.
Hopefully some tech news outlets will pick up the story.
You'd think the corporation "organizing the world's information" would be able to organize their own, huh?
If you are reading this, please let publishers know why their October earnings and expected Dec. 1 payments are -80% off the estimated earnings.

Heck - never had any concern about this until this morning. I reported earlier on here that I had passed the 1000 Euro mark per month for the first time. It now shows my finalized earnings as one tenth of that!
9:11 am on Nov 7, 2011 (gmt 0)
I certainly hope and expect that this is a mistake by G and will be sorted. I have a sneaky feeling however as it has already been labelled as "Finalized Earnings" that they won't change it this month, but would move any adjustment into next month.
I remember a few years ago being paid double one month. It was of course sorted out the next month.
The main thing is we would like to be informed of what is going on.

First good month in a year with Adsense and now this. I feel Google is experimenting with my sanity.

Final Oct earnings showing -55% of estimated earnings, Google forum shows they are aware of the problem and are working to resolve it. This doesn't help publishers because bills are still due for us and many others who depend on this revenue! I do like the comment that the Adwords system sure doesn't have this accounting software bug, they charge my account like clockwork, but can't keep Adsense on track for it's publishers, that says it all! Also like the comment that we should get interest on the delayed money, that is what SHOULD happen, but of course WON'T, we will be lucky if we see this money for Christmas if at all. It's really RIDICULOUS if you think about Google's attitude toward publishers, I can't even talk with anyone or email anyone about this, I have to search for a third party forum to get information about this issue and HOPE that they recognize that my little account is broken too, RIDICULOUS! Oh and don't forget Google will benefit daily from the additional interest they accrue on the money they owe us. Thoroughly Disgusted about this issue.

That is something you should never do.

Or at least try to build up a bit of a cushion, even though that can be tough to do. I liken it to losing one's job. Need to have a little money in the bank, just in case.

AdSensePr0 Payments
Thanks for writing in and for your patience while we investigate these bugs. We're aware that some publishers have significant discrepancies between estimated and finalized earnings. Our engineers are working as quickly as they can to investigate and resolve this issue in addition to the others. Please refer to our Known Issues page for the latest updates. We hope to have good news for you soon.
We apologize for the inconvenience, as we know how important these payments are to you.
All these issues with Adsense, you'd think this was a new product just launched the other week.

First they came for the communists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist.
Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew.
Then they came for me
and there was no one left to speak out for me.

Here's a link to that comment: [google.com...]
I spoke to several people at Google today, (I called the Cambridge, MA office at 9:00AM EST -- no help, then called NY offices... left a voice mail message, then called CA three hours later at 9AM PST.
I also used the "Report Issue" link on the Adsense Report interface, (upper right corner, above Publisher ID).
I got a call back at 2:30PM EST from a NY employee who gave me their name, title and a direct dial phone number I could call back on. That person promised to look into the issue and discuss with the Adsense team -- and sounded sincere, (yes, there are humans that work there).
Hopefully this will be resolved BEFORE checks are cut this month.

The issue has made it to the AdSense "Known Issues Page" as -
Significant discrepancies between estimated and finalized earnings for some publishers (updated 11/7/11)

It's good to see it's just a glitch, I thought I was nuts for a while. But comparing a temporary display glitch to the holocaust? That's hysterical :)

When it hits a bunch of people at the same time in the same way, it's usually (but not always) a glitch.

Nothing to do with the Holocaust. If you don't get, no worries.

Does the AdWords works like the AdSense in terms of estimated or not? Did you guys, using AdWords, receive some money back after a month when the AdSense publishers are reducing its payments?
If at the end my payment is less than some euros less than I though, then I can assume that they will go to the add was wrongly charged. Or I miss something?
6:26 pm on Nov 8, 2011 (gmt 0)
First they came ...
you might also want to look up "hyperbole"..
And ponder the wisdom of having your rent and food money etc, apparently entirely dependent upon whether the monthly adsense welfare for webmasters arrives on time..especially if you have already been in this game for a few years..
As someone said in another thread recently, how would you survive if Google shut down tomorrow ? especially if they didn't ever send the check that you expected for last month..

Usually I get a readjustment at the end of every billing period in AdWords for "invalid clicks" for all my (and my clients') accounts. Usually it's only a few bucks, maybe $20 at most.
11:40 pm on Nov 8, 2011 (gmt 0)
Anyone who experienced this issue should check their accounts. I just noticed that my finalized earnings have been updated. I now have only about a $5 difference between estimated and finalized earnings.
1:05 am on Nov 9, 2011 (gmt 0)
It's fixed, the world didn't end and all your stolen money has been returned :)
1:22 am on Nov 9, 2011 (gmt 0)
Just checked and it has been fixed. From 4 digits to under a $1. Phew, great to know it was a glitch and kudos to the Adsense engineering team for fixing it promptly.
2:05 am on Nov 9, 2011 (gmt 0)
Yup, mine is fixed too!
2:28 am on Nov 9, 2011 (gmt 0)
See, Adsense isn't so bad.
6:37 am on Nov 9, 2011 (gmt 0)
It's fixed here too. Big sigh of relief since I was reading that a big discrepancy might also signify very poor traffic and could be used as a warning before banning the account. I don't know if it true but it just added to the overall stress.
1:36 pm on Nov 9, 2011 (gmt 0)
I'm seeing this for the third month on a row now.
In August I already mentioned this in Webmasterworld [webmasterworld.com...]
October is -15%.
That's a 4-digit number.
Nothing got 'fixed' from Google's side.
I tried to contact them trough all possible ways in the last months, but just ran into a wall.
5:49 pm on Nov 9, 2011 (gmt 0)
In my account is fixed now. A second payment with the missing amount has appeared.
6:00 pm on Nov 9, 2011 (gmt 0)
Glad to see it's getting settled out now.
pixar24 - about all we can tell you is to try over at the AdSense Forum, and see if you can get a Google rep's attention. But in all the noise over there about this, I don't hold out a lot of hope.
If it's happening to you every month, then you may have an issue with your traffic, or for some reason, Google think it's seeing a lot of invalid activity. Not sure there's anything more to say other than that.
10:40 pm on Nov 10, 2011 (gmt 0)
Glad to see it is resolved for those of you that posted such, glad to see I'm back to normal levels of final earning too, WHEW!
