Well, at least Google is happy. Their profits were up 36% the last quarter!
If it looks like s#it, and smells like s#it, it's probably S#IT...or AdSense!
I smell the smell or something that smells smelly.

Another 70% day. Guess I should be glad it's even that much. :-(

BBC news article on Google's surge in profits for 3 months to June [bbc.co.uk...]
Well yesterday was the lowest Adsense earnings in about 7 years, traffic is down massively due to Panda and Places listings - I really do not know what to say except I wish everyone would use another search engine!

People using Google is growing in a lot of developing countries so their should me a lot of things to report there. My Adsense stats today was okay, but I'm still dividing my efforts to finding another source for traffic.

Since unblocking my blocked list, my clicks were at their lowest this month yesterday, along with earnings. I think my week trial will just last one more day.

Thanks to all those totally irrelevant SIM card ads I had yesterday, my second biggest site's click volume was 60% of the previous day and earnings were at 21.5% ... excellent Google, obviously perfectly matched ultra cheap advertising for my widgets...$hit for brains these people!

I would let your test go for at least 4 days to a week or more. It can take days for clicks to appear in your stats.
For example, I recently switched all of my ads from image only to text only and it took three days for this to be reflected in my stats. That's one good reason tests need to last longer than a day or two or even three.
This test confirmed a test I conducted a few weeks ago. It took some time for the change to be reflected in my stats. I will try it again in the near future to see if it happens again.

Today is OK...the rest of the month has been really bad. Now begins the roller coaster, I hope. It's better than flat-lining.

Indeed... I've made "pence" today... don't know if it's stuck or that's it. The way things have been growing steadily worse I'll assume that's it and consider renting my kidneys (liver no good).

Is it me or the numbers are wrong today? For 2 hours I've done 30% of what I used to... and these are the good hours....

Thanks Atomic - I'll ride the wave and will give it a week come what may.

So far today, just 25%. Hope it gets better...

AdSense Revenue in GA for today is much higher than in adsense report. And it's not updating, for at least four hours. Also I saw a decrease in earnings for today in adsense report, but the "fake" amount was still less then what I see in GA now...

Well yesterday saw an improvement, though still below average, and today looks a lot more promising. Usually my traffic diminishes a little over the weekend, but I've had more clicks than usual, with a reasonable payout. Not sure if unblocking the ads is having a positive affect, as it's too early to tell, but so far so good.
6:09 am on Jul 17, 2011 (gmt 0)
Well, this month seems better for me than last. But still, my earnings are way below what i used to have three months ago, before panda update. Anyways, why cry on what is lost. This month the CPC seems to be good, but CTR is still the same. And ofcourse, the traffic is falling still, wonder where it would stop.

Oh lordy, lordy, lordy...what is happening at The Plex?
Saturday v July's average:
These numbers are way up for me compared to recent Saturdays, one or two seem to be posting about possible Panda updates in the search forum...anyone else?
7:01 pm on Jul 17, 2011 (gmt 0)
My earnings were slightly higher than July's average yesterday. Clicks and eCPM were down a bit, but traffic was way, way up.
Dunno about a Panda update. There should be more confirmation.

Awful two days. Hardly worth even having the servers online. Sometimes I really wonder about the type of people that Google employs and whether they have any connection with the real world.

Some friends of mine work there. Nice people.

I don't know if it was a result of unblocking ads three days ago, but having only had one average day this whole month, yesterday was at least 20% above average, and was a very good day indeed.
8:18 pm on Jul 18, 2011 (gmt 0)
Scary low earnings today. There doesn't seem to be any averaging out....
It's like one day is "decent" and then the next it's pennies? Of course...none of it is at pre-panda earnings...not even close, but I was thinking I could survive this. But now...not so much.
Normally Monday is my highest earning day too.
11:21 pm on Jul 18, 2011 (gmt 0)
Two words. Rhymes with "clucking bell". Stats dead today.
11:22 pm on Jul 18, 2011 (gmt 0)
Same here, jmcc. Now Google is busy taking earnings back, like they normally do every day.
7:40 am on Jul 19, 2011 (gmt 0)
Another above average day yesterday - that's two in a row - I don't know what's going on. I think Atomic's advice to keep the ads unblocked may be paying off, but I'll give it until the end of the month to see if the changes remain.

I blocked all certified ad networks yesterday, and I'm seeing crazy stats today. Before noon, I've made more than I've made all day for the past 3 months, but I'm not hopeful. I think Google is going to begin their clawbacks soon.
8:19 pm on Jul 19, 2011 (gmt 0)
How do you do that? I wouldn't mind trying to see if that works for me.
10:30 pm on Jul 19, 2011 (gmt 0)
You have to go into the new interface and then click on the Allow & Block Ads button and then click on the Edit button beside the Ad Networks option. I'm thinking of trying this myself but I have 322 ad networks listed. That's a lot of blocking. In fact that's longer than the list I just recently wiped out in my Competitive Ad Filter list. I think I'll have to sleep on this.
10:38 pm on Jul 19, 2011 (gmt 0)
Just what I thought would happen did happen. I'm back to normal now. What Google gave they took away from me within two hours! Now I'm back down to where I was before April 11. I'm truthfully absolutely fed up with Google and am ready to start selling my own advertising for the site.
@littlegiant - You can block ALL the ad networks with one click now.

If I recall correctly, you said a while back that you made some changes to some H1 tags and titles (something like that) and your traffic recovered? Did your recovery stick? And if so, now you're suffering from low CTR, eCPM? Because that's what happened to me.
My recent loss in earnings is not commensurate with my loss in traffic (got pandalized for about 55% of my traffic). Earnings this month so far averaging between 20-25% of pre-panda earnings.
Wiping out my competitive filter list saw my eCPM double 4 out of 7 days in the past week compared to the week before. It doesn't at all feel stable though. Feels like I just got lucky. Although admittedly, I completely revamped my main site. I launched a completely new site design and many pages now carry my main bread winner 336 x 280 ad below the fold because I'm paranoid about this too-many-ads-above-the-fold thing.
I also rewrote about 20 category introductory pages in which I borrowed the first paragraph from other pages in that category to create an introductory page to that section which worked well for many years prior to panda as all those pages had a low bounce rate. I never thought I'd get penalized for borrowing my own 1000% original content to create user-friendly introduction pages.
I'm now thinking that my ad placement is killing my CTR but I'm more interested in getting my traffic back (or at least some of it) and then work on monetizing it better. However, from what I'm reading here on WebmasterWorld, trying to get un-pandalized is probably a total crapshoot.
At any rate, all the changes I made was stuff I was planning to do anyways.
