Dead today. Blocked all their third party networks to see if it makes a difference. The hamsters probably aren't even awake yet.

This entire month has been dead! It's so bad that I may not make the minimum this month to receive a check. WTF is going on. Have the three legged hamsters been replaced by rocks!

I've been nudging my CTR by blocking individual targeted ads and checking the effect. I started with the worst ads (flash) because the are easiest to identify. Plus, an investigation of the advertiser indicated a less than honest business model. It's not that the ads weren't relevant, they just weren't performing. And they accounted for a lot of impressions, too. So blocking a couple of them made a big difference.

July seems broken.
It seems that after 4th of July all the advertisers are still on holiday!
eCPM is crap since 28.06...

I've been away most of the day on real-world business, on my return I've found I can just pay for 10% of a tank of petrol...UK prices...wonderfuel, no gas today then?

HuskyPup - Given the numbers I'm seeing, I may be heading over to the pub a little early today if you care to join me. ;-)

Don't think you'll find fuel any cheaper on the other side of the channel HuskyPup, especially if you're driving a 30 year old gas guzzler like mine. :-)
Not one great day in July so far. More akin to last years earnings before I made improvements that resulted in higher payouts. If I hadn't made any changes I'd hate to imagine what I'd be making right now. Had to quickly change my Google bank payment details when Santander (most terrible bank in the world) forced the closure of my account with very short notice for no good reason whatsoever.

Just started up my other non-Google related business, so hope I can plug the gap, and not remain too reliant on my Google earnings.

This month has been really bad with my CPM network, my affiliate earnings are non existent, so maybe it's not all just Adsense.

yes. thank God for my food delivery business. Thank God I decided long ago never to rely on Adsense. Still hurts to see eCPM plunge though. It's as though someone decided to flip a switch and overnight, it crashed.

Hope so because then, there's hope things will recover.

With many people reporting that eCPM is way down, including myself, I see three possible reasons for this:

1. Targeting is way, way, off and the Adsense department is unaware of this.

2. User behavior has changed. Due to the recession, people are less inclined to click on ads because the landing site for ads might mean they will have to spend money they don't have. So why click if you don't have money to spend on whatever the ad is offering?

3. Due to the recession, or other reasons, advertisers have dropped out by a very large number.

Or it could be a combination of the above. Whatever it is, I've never seen my income so low, so bad, so dismal, since 2003.

This is just amazing. Those people have definitely broken something and they don't know how to fix it. They took a perfectly good contextual advertising system and banjaxed it.

You missed at least one:

4. Those seeing declines are the only ones posting and it's business as usual for most AdSense publishers.

You'll know when the economy is hurting AdSense when Google posts flat or declining earnings.

Also, my classes in business taught that advertising increases when the business cycle is in the worst part of the contraction stage and on the verge of or just into the expansion stage. Or forget about theory and pay attention to reports of record internet advertising spending AND Google's profits.

Yay. Post 1000 for both Freedom and I!

My ads are spot on. Nothing changed at all. Then June 29 came and eCPM crashed - I mean literally nosedived.

Went from 5 figures/month down to not much. I will get it all back then some with Googles help but not using adsense. My moto for 2012 is stack em deep and cheap..

I had this notion that its still business for Adsense users but its not, a large portion of publishers have lost a lot of income.
Its no coincidence that 3 local european newspapers in my country have lost income after Panda. I even had the chance see one major Asian newspaper getting a 60% cut.

I work for a major affiliate marketing company so it could be the reason I sound bias. I still believe in in PPC but I think in the long term affiliate programs are the way to go. ( sorry about the bad English it not my first language)

Don't apologize for your English, thechromeguy. You probably speak English far better than most of us could ever speak your language!

I think you're right about the affiliate programs.

My July figures are up 20%+ from June.

Made some hefty changes on one of my sites and Adsense seems to be liking it.

If only my pre-panda 2.0 traffic returned - I'd be a very happy man! Increasing gradually, though.
