It was a brilliant day with great support from friendly people. We learnt a lot with all kinds of details. Another important factor was that among the adsense people was someone from the search team. In response to questions about Panda and add placement (especially over the fold) the answer from both adsense and search reps was that there is no problem placing adds over the fold as long as you have content on your user friendly page, and not just a couple of words and adds all over the place.
In a few words it was an enlightening experience, personally it made me feel that I am a part of this great company even as a small publisher. Again thanks to all the friendly people of Google and the great experience they gave us.

Welcom to WebmasterWorld george_1

Was anything mentioned about the 6th May drastic reduction in CTR/eCPM for those who post here?

Indeed, welcome george_1

the answer from both adsense and search reps was that there is no problem placing adds over the fold as long as you have content on your user friendly page

Some of us said that there was no problem with this, adds above the fold, and

not just a couple of words and adds all over the place.

Those who complained the most..had and still have the latter type sites and home pages..

Especially two sites that were consistently cited here as... "not fitting the mold" ..I visited them today, still as ad heavy as ever, and the one in particular whose owner has posted here complaining ..still has way more ads and nav than content above the fold..and more ads lower down..and neither of them have recovered..because in reality they are still addicted to their ads,( they are just MFAs with slightly more editorial than the "classic" models of MFAs) and the first one still has loads of ads, and places ads so as to confuse them with editorial images..

It isn't rocket surgery..
