New AdSense interface crashes my iPad

The new AdSense interface only works in Mobile mode on my iPad. Classic crashes it every time. Anybody else?

I have the first iPad; both interfaces work okay for me.

@netmeg
I have the iPad 2, maybe that's the difference?
Just to clarify, I'm talking about the new interface only with the Mobile | Classic (which is really desktop - beats me why they didn't call it that) views at the bottom of the page. Or if you click on the Google logo in the new interface (which is where I first noticed the problem) and not the 'old' interface (which is stable).

Don't Wordpress sites automatically adjust to best fit the platform its on, especially in the case of mobile devices?

I think we're talking about different things here. This thread is regarding Google's AdSense reports page and how the new version crashes on iPad. But as for Wordpress, yes there's a mobile plugin for blogs called WPtouch which works great.

I have the same problem on my iPad 2 w/Safari. I reported the bug to Google, but it's been there for a while now. (It was also a problem on my iPhone with the new AdSense interface a long time before I got my iPad 2).

Sounds more like a Safari bug than a Google bug, I'd report it to Apple too, but they don't seem to care if you can use the whole web anyway.

Funny, AdSense works fine on my Android phone <ducks>

I hadn't updated my iPad 1 for a few months, and didn't have any trouble with the AdSense Classic interface. A week ago I updated the iPad and just like Play_Bach is reporting, Safari crashes almost every time I try to view the classic interface.

The mobile interface is so basic it's unusable for me, so I usually browse AdSense with my Android phone. I admit, I feel silly with an iPad on my lap, suring the web through my phone.

Can't wait until I can afford the Xoom tablet, or someone else comes out with a more reasonably priced Android tablet.

I have to wonder, though, if this isn't done on purpose. How did I get so cynical?

I think we all know the answer to that... :-)

I've visited hundreds of different web sites on my iPad, and that's the only one that does this behavior.

Sounds like a Safari bug. I haven't updated mine in a while.

Could be a Safari bug I guess. Hadn't actually considered that until incrediBILL brought it up. That you're not having problems either because you haven't updated your iPad software would seem to put it on Apple too. Odd that it's the one and only site I visit that crashes. Hope "they" fix it.

Well ya know everyone at Google is using Chrome so what do they care about a Safari bug affecting one of their sites? ;-) I guess it might be up to Apple to fix the bug. Depends whether it's a Safari bug or not I guess!

It's a Safari bug, try Opera, now is available on iPad too.

Shouldn't this thread be properly re-titled "iPad update crashes my AdSense Interface"?

Seriously, that is the actual issue.

Thanks Mentat. Just re-installed the Opera browser and you're right, no crash. Mystery solved, it's Safari.

I still have FF3.x on one computer and Google gives me a "your browser is no longer supported" message for several of its services and then denies me access completely. I'd say they aren't worried about backwards compatibility and force users to upgrade. The message here is - go mobile!

OK, AdSense reports definitely works in Opera Mini. It will take a while to get used to the weird page sliding thing when a page loads, but I'll get over it LOL Thanks for the help guys.

Hunh? I travel frequently between five different computers; FF is my default browser on all of them, and only one have I upgraded to FF4 yet. I don't get any messages about 3 no longer being supported. Which services are these?

What makes you think ios devices offer more privacy?

I don't know that my iPhone and iPad have any more privacy but....

Problem is Goofle has too much personal info on me as it is (AdSense - home address, phone number, bank account #; AdWords - credit card number; Google Account - browsing & search history; GMail - personal contacts; etc.). If I also let Goofle track (and record and retain forever) my every move using my mobile phone, I'd be insane.

At least if Apple is spying on me, it's a separate company with limited information. They have some information on me, but it's far less than Google gathers in a day. I guess you could say Apple is the lesser of two evils.

But that's for another thread, we're kind of getting off-topic ;-)

Though more stable than Safari, Opera Mini has been crashing on me with the new interface as well. Not so sure it's just a Safari bug anymore.
