March 2011 AdSense Earnings

Perhaps a little early, but it's now into the 2nd day of March here in the UK soo... the March 2011 AdSense thread.

Yesterday I had a pretty good day. The rebound I seen at the end of Feb thankfully continued. Long may it continue!

CTR not even in a single digit (well, it's %0.xx) today. Hmm. Page impressions are fine though..

Stats just a slow crawl here today too.

same here. A fraction of a percent for CTR. I guess those are some pretty bad ads that nobody is interested in.

Abysmal Monday, CTR and eCPM way, way, way off average...since maintenance Sunday 20th I have had only ONE day above the monthly average...nah, maintenance does nothing does it?

Way down here as well HuskyPup. March is going to be the lowest AdSense month in years. :-(

I got a 2 cent click. I didn't even know there was such a thing!

March 2011 is already my best ever Adsense month ... still with a bit of time to go. I've been in the programme since the middle of 2006.

The start of this month was my best ever start to a month but the second half hasn't been quite as good as the first half. Not bad, but not as good.

No one statistic is exceptional - individually I've had more page impressions, higher CTR, higher average EPC in some previous months but they have all combined in such a way this month to give me my best earnings overall.

The 1p and 2p clicks have still been there, in addition to quite a few clicks without any earnings at all which I assume G regards as invalid.

Whatever G has done with the search algorithm recently seems to have helped me. I have always created original content that simply isn't available elsewhere but when I searched previously on my keywords I just got a load of MFA and non-information sites. This left me frustrated.

That seems to have changed now. The visitors who want information are now finding it; and they have more interest in the ads. Basically, better and more relevant traffic.

I'm pleased but previous experience with Adsense tells me that nothing lasts for long. Next month could be my worst and I am already prepared for it. With Adsense hope for the best but expect the worst and you can't be disappointed.

Another gutter day with EPC and CTR sinking fast.

Everything was running nicely until that last maintenance day and apart from one day it's been downhill ever since.

1st-20th v 21st to 31st will make an interesting comparison.

March was heading to be my first month since October whereby I would have been ahead of the previous year's comparable month however it's been so much lower since the 21st all the gains have been lost.

It's March 30th, and things are at their worst. I've been away all day, and just logged in at 4:21pm EST, and traffic is normal, but only 2 extremely low paying clicks. I pray for a click dump, but I won't hold my breath. All-in-all it's been my best month yet, but only because of my SEO tools being added to all those newsletters. If things were normal with all my traffic, It'd be a glorious Month.

1/3 of average daily earnings. Traffic is fine, CTR is 2/3 of normal and the EPC is pitiful. Yesterday turned out fine.

Interesting to see others reporting a sort of split month.

It's been similar for me. First ~20 days (very) good, the rest bad (on average).

I'm now flatling on my minimum daily earnings' expectation, AdSense has been an extremely poor performer for the last 11 days of the month and almost back to December and January levels.

From the UK I'm seeing the same advertisers and using proxies seemingly the usual worldwide advertisers...I am going to repeat this one more time:

This downwards trend has happened since maintenance day 20th March 2011.

Interesting; I took a noticeable dive in March too. Still the best March I've ever had, but when you look at the graph, it's plain as the nose on your face.

Me too, suddenly after a very good starting month, the last days I had a drop in earnings per day, about half of my Feb.11 average, except one day. I hope April will start as good as this month.

I'm seeing a 1000% increase in earnings in March compared to 2010. I'm talking about low earnings either.

Best month ever! However, the last 10 days have been bad for me compared to the first 10 days, and the middle of march. Still very good overall.

31st March saw my worst earnings' day of the month with my lowest EPC day. My actual click volume was precisely the daily average but with an earnings' rate of 80% for the month BUT 76.5% compared to 1st to 20th March.

March 2011 v March 2010 was 94.7%

March 2011 v February 2011 was 112.6%

1st Quarter 2011 v 1st Quarter 2010 was 85.5%

Poor Google, very, very poor and definitely not heading in the right direction mostly, it would seem to me, because of CTR and huge Smart Pricing anomalies.

For instance, 31st March I had one channel with 11.4% of click volume generating 31% of earnings!

Was this a channel crammed full of expert technical analysis, product history, supply information, the perfect niche widget page?

No, it was a frigging Coppermine photo gallery!

Just why doe we bother creating these wonderful pages and sites when Google hasn't a clue what we are doing and rewards keyword domain name MFAers and scrapers?

Doh!

It is unfortunately fitting that on April Fool's day, my earnings are a joke.
