Ember, I am really happy for you. Adsense is truly a life-changing program. Looking back, when I was 16, we were just an average middle-class family living on hundreds of dollars per month. Life was tough back then. I still remember the days when I used to work for 14 hours and make pennies, sometimes nothing. Now I make 3-figure income, every day. I really want to thank Adsense, my Grandma and God. I've bought plenty of things that I could only wish for, plus I now believe in myself. I now care for my family -- it brings immense joy when you can buy things for them, the smile on their face is priceless. I am emotionally attached with this company, no matter how worse the days are... hey, it is at least a decent 3-figure income! I just hope Adsense and internet lives for another 10 more years. :)

sid786, why are you thanking your Grandma and god? Do they help you do the write articles and maintain the site? Don't blame others for your success ;-)

Two thumbs up and a big ditto! :-) There's indeed nothing which gives you the full revenue potential of your sites like AdSense, for virtually no other effort than to put a tiny little code on your pages.

| come on guys, don't tell that you have only adsense on your pages and make great money. There are already too many people who are whining that adsense is the root of spam on the web and this includes the microsoft Search team's head.

| I only have Adsense on 90% of pages and make pretty good money. That is the whole point of this post. [edited by: ember at 4:05 pm (utc) on Feb 6, 2011]

Ember, count me as someone with exactly same experience. Left a six figure corporate job to create a website with AdSense, and now make more money that that with just AdSense. All I do is work hard, create excellent content that benefits my users, and G sends me a payment each month. I have been on it for about 7 years now full time and obviously that means thousands of pages of excellent content all created by me. Readers are not stupid; they know what good websites and not only keep coming back they also send their friends. So I wouldn't say thank you AdSense because in the end G is not doing anything charitable, it is just a business partner, but I want all those hard working publishers out there who want to build a genuine business that if you keep going and focus on your readers, you will eventually be able to work full time and make a living like me.

ember, i think you haven't understood what i meant.Adsense may be the only program that you use but it is not like you earn just by simply adding that to a web page. You need content and you need to work hard on creating good content. skweb had already explained it well and I agree with him on all, except for the fact that I do believe in thanking my business partners :)

The internet is teh awesome :). I like adsense because it impresses the women at the post office in the podunk little town I live in. Every month I open my check and show them Google's name at the top. Makes for a great conversation, even if the amount of the check is only $100.

Sometimes we complain about huge fluctuation, NOT because we don't love Adsense, but because we would like to improve the program. And YES, adsense is still the BEST.

I agree. It's changed our lives big time too. Ironically I say this on a day when our "numbers" are deep in the dumps, but the monthly averages are still between 3500-4000.

| When everything goes well, I don't feel the need to post about it as much as when I have difficulties. It's a natural human behavior. You won't hear us complain about other programs that are crap either because they simply get dropped and forgotten from the beginning. I think Adsense do deserve a congratulatory thread.

Bing talking about adsense creating spam is nonsense, Adsense has saved thousand of dollars for many users for example Doctors, Engineers, Advisors are giving free tips which would have not been available without adsense on them. Hate it or Like it Google is major reason for people coming to online business. Infact Google has helped Microsoft by getting more people on net. Internet was more spammy with those unwanted Pop up & Pop under ads before adsense. I think Google instead of just becoming best tech company has to do some philanthropy work to get people emotionally attached to the company like Mr.Bill Gates. Google dedication to Cleaner environment is great but what about humans?

Adsense is not doing well for me at the moment, a lot less over the last few months. But yes it has transformed my life. No big boss telling me what to do. I have started to spread my sights wider over the last couple of months and it's clear, as it has been previously, that there ARE other alternatives to Adsense. Adsense may still be the primary earner for me, but the gap between Adsense and the alternatives is closing rapidly .Adsense earnings are falling and the alternatives are rising.

Changed my life too man. I'd like to say thanks to Google too. The money aside, I feel humbled that over 350 million people have used my creation. It truely makes you feel like you've made an impact on the world. ... Though, these days I'm making twice as much off selling my own (targeted) ad space than I do with adsense. But I still love that adsense revenue. :-P - They've truly treated me well. ... Keep those checks coming Google :)

Overall AdSense has been great for me. I have more trouble maintaining traffic levels than maintaining eCPM. I've even "shot myself in the foot" a couple of times and survived nicely! :) I'm not getting rich, but that's not why I'm doing this. Still, just about every time we talk, my accountant reminds me of how lucky I am to have a hobby like the one that is the focus of my site. And that's the thing for, I have a hobby I love, the website is second by a long shot, and it still works out well! Oh sure, I have my gripes about AdSense now and then, but hey, this thing lets me travel, hang out with other like minded hobbyists, and meet neat people, what a deal! Thanks AdSense!

Me too! :-) I've been with AdSense since 2004 and though I'm just a minnow earnings-wise compared to some of the people here, I've made enough that I could have bought a brand new car by now (I won't say what make/model, but rest assured it ain't a Ferrari or a Rolls ;-)
