February 2011 AdSense Earnings

No problems, I'll start it:-)

Am I supposedly to accept without question that on the 1st February 2011 that global advertisers in my industry suddenly decided to increase their bids and that visitors thought it was a good time to start clicking?

It was my best day since 18th November 2010.

Page impressions normal.

My CTR returned to normal, i.e. pre-Thanksgiving Day

My eCPM returned to normal, i.e. pre-Thanksgiving Day

My EPC retuned to normal, i.e. pre-Thanksgiving Day

My earnings returned to normal, i.e. pre-Thanksgiving Day

I am expected to believe this is a "normal" advertising market?

Garbage, utter garbage!

Something's seriously wrong with this broken plug-in.

For years 80% of my daily earnings were within 90-110% of the daily average, occasionally it went to 80-120% with the odd data loss day whenever, this month it is 60-133%.

I just do not believe a single figure generated by Google these days insofar as my earnings are concerned.

Stop using it then. It is only stressing you out.

I'm not stressed, I view it as farcical that we're supposed to accept that this is "normal" after years of experience proving otherwise...or were previous years' figures massaged to look consistent?

Stressed, no, annoyed at G's silence, yes.

CPC back to pennies. It has been very variable recently. A week ago it was standard (pretty decent $0.xx/0.xx amount CPC), but a couple of days ago it's switched back to pennies.

Either advertisers really are cutting their advertising spending by 80-90% every few days or so (before bringing their spending back to 'standard' levels every few days or so), or something is a 'tad' wrong.

Edit: Seeing poor targetting too. And some irrelevant ads. I don't want to have to blacklist en masse and micro manage things, but I might have too.

Do you think it is related to Adwords Coupons G sends to many people?
Yesterday one of my friend was very happy, because he received his Adwords Coupon via Mail.

Non-Proffesional Advertisers can do this roller coster effect.

I know some business owners collect these coupons and give them to their users ( such as hosting companies, when you buy service they give adwords coupons for free etc )

Same here. Binned it.
Plastic this time too. Very eco-friendly. Not.

Nope, it's Stupid Pricing gone awol.

Today my best earning channel is averaging its normal USD 0.70 per click however my second biggest site concerning the same subject and ostensibly the same ads is averaging USD 0.16 per click.

That's not advertisers, that's not-a-clue Google!

Wow. At least I don't feel alone.

Yesterday on the 23rd all of our accounts TANKED.

I have never seen this kind of yo-yo thing with Adsense. Might have to go back to affliate ads. Problem is some of these merchants are crooks and you can count on some of them doing claw-backs.

I always post gloom and doom so I thought I'd better post this....

Earnings are WAY up today compared to so far in 2011.
Today looks to be on line to double yesterday.
And I haven't done anything to the blogs!

Come on, this is better than the rat race though, right? I'm glad I'm not just starting out now, I'd probably think twice.

Yup. Lowest day since July 2006. Maybe some big changes going on at the plex with calculations spanning several days or weeks? Can't make sense of it. Going back to bed.

Ditto... I am thinking to take up corporate job, but no, my soul tells me everything should be alright from the next month.

I am so afraid to look at my earnings right now, I am feeling low -- all my efforts to write 1000+ USEFUL pages reaped "nothing." Really, I am angry and, at the same time, feeling very sad.

PLEASE ADSENSE, COME BACK TO NORMAL.

Disparate performance across the board it seems. My partner's site although small is earning rather well this month whereas mine seems to have tanked. I'd consider getting a day job again if there were any.

Just checked to see if my usual position in Google has changed as a result of the recent algo change [webmasterworld.com...]

Nope. So something else is going on (at least as far as my site is concerned). Looking at my AdSense reports not move, or move very little all day is frustrating. I've long suspected AdSense stats weren't real time but have gotten used to a certain rhythm of updates and totals nonetheless. I'm beginning now to suspect the update intervals are much, much farther apart than just a few hours -- days, maybe even weeks is looking like what may be happening now.

I have tested it.
I put a new ad unit on a page where generally many clicks come from, but after a day I saw click results from that new ad units in adsense stats.
So I wonder whether the clicks what we see right now are from yesterday!

I don't think it's static across the board, there's probably some clicks that are credited right away, and others that are flagged as "wait, maybe better take a look at those" and show up later.
