Yep, I'm suspecting data loss for the first few hours of the day, some of my sites didn't get any clicks whatsoever until late afternoon European time, I was about 40% down overall.
The Superbowl didn't seem to have any effect, evening and overnight clicks were normal and EPC within its normal range.
12:02 pm on Feb 7, 2011 (gmt 0)
Same here. Seems whenever there's a big sporting event in the US, weird things happen on Adsense.
8:31 pm on Feb 7, 2011 (gmt 0)
Anyone else showing AdSense eCPM being unusually sluggish today? Did Superbowl campaigns end or something? (Can't tell based on last year's data...numbers were too wimpy to mean anything.)
Paranoid that an experiment I did went badly wrong...

Anyone else showing AdSense eCPM being unusually sluggish today?
Overall I'm looking normal however I am seeing a massive difference between sites from the same trade and all ostensibly showing the same ads e.g. some sites are earning usd 0.15 and other sites 0.45 per click!
9:21 pm on Feb 7, 2011 (gmt 0)
Well, the horror is fading somewhat, but not completely gone. Views seem normal, though.

Just "sluggish"? No.
It's a slow-mo snail on sandpaper... paaainfully sluuuuugish..

I can only say B..l.s.it for adsense.
there is nothing about drop revenue on offical adsense blog. Nothing.
there is no hope at all except I hope adsense wont be SCAM in near future or how much they stole in news etc.
8:45 pm on Feb 8, 2011 (gmt 0)
My revenue dropped by almost 75%! The whole of Feb till now is depressing.
8:53 pm on Feb 8, 2011 (gmt 0)
Mine is still holding steady at the new "normal" which is about half of what 2010 was.
Maybe I'll get lucky like Husky Pup did a few days ago and posting here will make it jump!
I know...I know...LOL

My wife and I have been using Adsense since 2003 and we have NEVER seen so many bad swings.
If you have a really good day....you can almost count on the next being really bad.
Mentioned one of our accounts already here. At 2:30 mountain it's around 45-60 dollars....TODAY 3 bucks and change! Time to start shopping around for advertisers soon.

My revenue dropped by almost 75%! The whole of Feb till now is depressing.
I am just the same. I have been with Adsense since the beginning and nothing has been like this month of February. I am at 75% of my normal and consistent earnings, it is as if they turned the tap down on the 1st of the month.
There is never an explanation we are just at the bottom rung as always.
10:28 pm on Feb 8, 2011 (gmt 0)
Very close. Mine dropped by 80%. This year started really bad. Very unstable. It appears through a loophole some companies are taking a bigger cut from us than advertised. Paying a couple pennies per click when the advertisers are paying $10/click just doesn't look too great, even with Sma.P.
Tech companies better get their act together. It's Openleaks era? Heads will roll! A disgruntled whistle-blower can bring any company down to its knees.

You are saying 70-80 revenue drop. and G says nothing.
Who is lier?
and our super great AdsenseAdvisor does not say anything or contribute this kind of threads.
ahh sorry, he ask us about new adsense interface and why we havent switch to new interface etc.
Please guys, this is just seasonal effect on our adsense revenue.( as G or its advisors only says )
I think all of G is great president candidate for egypt. There is only one thing that they can do. This is keep their mouths closed and says nothing.
I am sure they are all watching these threads.
They know there is smt really wrong but no talk, no information :(

Well, I'll chime in - today is DISMAL! Looks like February is gonna be worse than January at the rate it's going, if that's possible.
12:24 am on Feb 9, 2011 (gmt 0)
Yep it is not looking good, not sure what is going on.. about 35% down this month.
7:07 am on Feb 9, 2011 (gmt 0)
February is good for me. I'm on pace to hit November earnings, which means February will likely be the 2nd or 3rd highest earning month in my 6 years with AdSense.
7:14 pm on Feb 9, 2011 (gmt 0)
February is disastrous for me and that's comparing it to a dismal January. And that's not just on my main site but other secondary ones are even worse.
The problem is that the decline in earnings (not page impressions) is causing me to write more pages just to try and get better results. Monday to Wednesday next week I'm going to stop writing new content, I'll just laze around and do some "blue sky" thinking. It has worked in the past.
9:35 pm on Feb 9, 2011 (gmt 0)
They seem to have changed something again!
After several pre-Thanksgiving Day average earnings, today is heading back towards December/January levels yet with even worse CTR and eCPM and this is running up to our busiest time of the year.
We are more than half the way through a Google day yet my Page Impressions and Clicks look 6 hours behind...are they delaying reports by several hours now?
I really do not want to remove AdSense however these massive fluctuations are becoming farcical and creating too much stress in our offices with which to be bothered.
10:57 pm on Feb 9, 2011 (gmt 0)
It's as bad as ever on this side.
11:01 pm on Feb 9, 2011 (gmt 0)
Horrible day. Feb. so far is going down as the worst month ever. Low CTR, Low EPC, super high traffic.
11:02 pm on Feb 9, 2011 (gmt 0)
To Our AdsenseAdvisor,
Why do you call yourself as " advisor"?
feel free to talk. Promise we wont do anything bad to you :)
Hey G, is there anybody there?
12:35 am on Feb 10, 2011 (gmt 0)
Sky High traffic EXTREMELY low CTR and average eCPM...
12:55 am on Feb 10, 2011 (gmt 0)
Real bad here too for Feb. Hopefully things pick up..
1:10 am on Feb 10, 2011 (gmt 0)
Pretty bad day so far, in another bad month. I'm seeing Matthew Perry's Mr. Sunshine ads on one underperforming site and people aren't clicking at all.
1:11 am on Feb 10, 2011 (gmt 0)
I do hope it picks up soon because today is equally as crappy as yesterday and like Husky says, it's getting very stressful...in my case I guess it's because I used to feel like I had a little bit of control over things....now I feel I have none. I am seriously considering removing Adsense( now there's some control!) after 5 weeks of this crazy stuff...
1:15 am on Feb 10, 2011 (gmt 0)
heh.. I had to go back to full time work working for the man because I felt I had lost control over my earning potential with Adsense after many many years of high earnings with Adsense. At the moment it's just purely cream on the top..
I do need a refined focus though on that part of my business. So it's partly my fault.
1:39 am on Feb 10, 2011 (gmt 0)
I think this will at least push me to try direct advertising...and oh - what's that?...a sudden click dump?! Well no not really... My impressions for the day just doubled in the last 5 minutes according to Adsense. LOL...still shows no one clickin' tho! Man that was quite a reporting delay. Maybe my CTR will catch up in another 5 minutes.
8:33 am on Feb 10, 2011 (gmt 0)
Man that was quite a reporting delay. Maybe my CTR will catch up in another 5 minutes.
The Google Day has ended, I had a click dump and my CTR was normal...for a Sunday level of Page Impressions! More data loss plus my EPC was below average BUT I did make my daily minimum by a few cents.
BUT, and anyone else who has done this as an experiment go check your settings, a couple of weeks ago I enabled 3rd Paty and Interest Based Ads, somehow, and I must stress I am the only one who accesses this account, somehow these had been disabled.
I'm not saying this has been the reason for three out of the last four days being way down in comparison, we'll see what happens today.
I'm now of the opinion there are specific groups of publishers who, for whayever reason, have been caught-up in yet another Stupid Pricing (SP) algo update that started around Thanksgiving Day and it has now worked its way through their systems and without a reversal/SP change then this is our new reality regardless of how good and relevant our sites are.
It would be interesting to know, probably another thread, just how many people who have been hit are not sending traffic to ecommerce sites but to informational sales brochure ones, certainly I am, it's just not feasible in my industry.
<end new topic>
To those of you who have never been hit by one of these "updates", you're lucky, however do not believe you are immune to it, G doesn't give a damn.
