Massive Click Dumps Being Reported Oct 7.

Just an hour or so to end oct 6, for around 10000 impressions this morning (Taiwan time, GMT+8), I'm seeing single digit earnings.
CTR has plummeted, eCPM is plummeted, and earnings worse this morning. Impressions are counting normally though.
Anyone seeing similar things?

I am seeing very good numbers so far today, higher than normal CTR and eCPM.

FYI - this is a holiday weekend in the US although primarily for government workers, bank employees, etc. Normal work week returns on Tuesday.

No, this has not to do with us holiday. I am located in europe and i am experiencing the same issue. Being on two figures clicks and my earnings are halved. All this in a matter of a couple of days now...

My RPM/CPM is quite low today. Impressions seem to be on par. I guess it's due to the US long weekend. I usually see lower numbers on US long weekends.

Today it's lower again. Yesterday was okay, but today is not so great. I just hope it's partly Google's messing up and part a 3-day holiday and that it'll recover in a few days. The impressions seem decent, it's just that the rest are not as good.

Well the low eCPMs are seen even on sites that don't depend on US traffic...

Yes, there is that too. My sites have international traffic. (Probably more coming from the USA, but basically anyone who speaks English can have an interest in the sites.) Well, I hope Google gets things straightened out soon!

This last three days were my worst days, earning downed around 30-40%.
And the usual high earning for Saturday was never happened.

Saturday ended up a good day. CTR went through the roof but for some reason EPC was horribly low.

I have made some comparisons for the past 3 working weeks. I have not included weekends.

Normal = within 90-110% of September's average.

Site 1 - Trade directory .com
Site 2 - Trade B&M .com
Sites 3 to 8 - Trade 2 x .asia, 2 x .cn, 2 x .in

20-24 Sept

Site 1 - Normal
Site 2 - Normal
Sites 3 to 8 - Normal

27th Sept 1st Oct

Site 1 - Normal
Site 2 - Normal
Sites 3 to 8 - Page Impresssions -7.78% Earnings -25%

4-8 Oct

Site 1 - Normal
Site 2 - Page Impresssions -32.79% Earnings -50%
Sites 3 to 8 - Page Impresssions -62.5% Earnings -58.3%

Interestingly one of my .co.uk sites this week has seen -67.2% in PIs.

My own server logs and statcounter are also showing similar figures.

Clearly these are not normal fluctuation by anyone's reckoning however the significant thing is why have my non .coms been hit so hard after years of consistent numbers. My site 2 .com has gone down this week however since it is interlinked with those non .com sites that could easily be one of the reasons.

For those of you not affected, fine, but for those of us who have been hammered by this "whatever it is", let's hope that Google get it sorted and quickly because it is affecting quite a number of sites and overall across all my sites I have seen this past week's earnings drop by more than 25%.

On October 8th my earnings were 1/10th of normal! Oct 9th is 50% below normal (could happen for sure). So there has been no "catch up" click dump yet for my sites to compensate for Oct 8th shortfall.

Traffic has remained normal.

Oh, one thing I forgot to post, Saturday 10th October saw my lowest AdSense Page Impression day since Xmas Day 2008 and this is at a time of year when I usually see increased traffic across the board until ThanksGiving Day...nah, nothing's wrong at all!

I have a relatively new site, but so far most of October (or at least for the past week I guess) has been very poor. In-fact some days I'm getting a decent amount of traffic (for a new site) but no clicks at all; despite my average CTR thus far (on days with clicks) being ~10%.

Ah well, all part of the Google 'fun' I guess..

A quick question, are you guys image intensive with Hotlink Protection? I have started a thread here:

[webmasterworld.com...]

I have identfied from where my losses are occurring and, quite simply, nearly all my images have been removed from Google Images since the introduction of Google Instant.

If you're not image intensive then it obviously may not apply to you.

Adsense Ads sucks, so I dropped the code from my mini sites. Why to give them free impressions or leads for their earnings from adwords?
Gooogle should lose a bit then they will wake up to compete with Twitter or Facebook or Bing....Now they are rich so cannot imagine what may come like Lehman Bros..
