Major AdSense Reporting Lag on Oct 6. 2010
Massive Click Dumps Being Reported Oct 7.

Just an hour or so to end oct 6, for around 10000 impressions this morning (Taiwan time, GMT+8), I'm seeing single digit earnings.
CTR has plummeted, eCPM is plummeted, and earnings worse this morning. Impressions are counting normally though.
Anyone seeing similar things?

Page impressions are higher ctr is down 1 whole percent and we were down 50% of our average earnings. Strange how so many of us are down nearly 1/2 from the average daily totals.

this seems like a reporting lag... there is a 25% to 30% reduction in expected hourly visitors reported in google analytics as well. the drop seemed to occur from 9am to 6pm pacific time.

yesterday CTR and earnings were 30%-40% lower
today they are 50%-60% lower

This is really bad!

Deepsixed 149 networks and things seem to be slow but a lot better than yesterday.

It's only 7 hours in, but it looks "okay." Not stellar, but "okay." Will see what the rest of the day brings.

I'm seeing a 66% reduction in earnings compared to previous days. Very, very strange.

I have had a week of continuous low earnings. Lower CTR and CPM. Earnings about 40% lower than the worst weekday last month, from about 20% more traffic.

I saw a lot of badly targeted ads last week. This week earnings are low despite a return to good ads.

I am worried I might have been smart priced because my (savvy, significant minority work in areas related to my niche) know better than to buy the crap they have been advertising recently.

Hey Guys...

I normally don't come to webmasterworld - only when I see things odd w/ my adsense -

oct 6th was HORRIBLE for me... lowest ECPM and earnings in months... this is with over 15,000 impressions for the day as well.. glad it wasn't just me...

Interesting, early in the day (Oct. 6) my CTR and CPM was rocking, however by the end of the day I was typical if not a little low.

Early high numbers means non-USA traffic for me.

Just another day in AdSense paradise or....

After a record September, it has been straight down from Oct. 1.
eCPM has been cut in half in 5 days.

Impressions variance about 1/10 of 1% over 3 days. My impressions are riveted to one number - 21,580.

What a roller coaster, with fixed impressions! Bizarre!
This is over many, many subjects. In other words, "across the board".

We don't have an AdSense Advisor at the moment.

There have been some AdWords issues this week, but I think they're mostly solved now.

Over 300'000 impressions a day - eCPM seems low for the last days. Also Google Analytics seems to lag back by changing thing that are over 48hrs old.

No improvements here too for the second day in succession...It was an analytics glitch on oct 5 and adsense continues with its bad returns today as well...

Perhaps this has something to do with the start of the 4th quarter? Companies have reduced their online advertising budgets for the 4th quarter?

GeorgeK

A change is advertising budgets would have affected the revenues per click, but the click-through rate (CTR) would have remained roughly constant. Given the CTR changed in such a huge manner, I think it's a technical glitch (that hopefully Google will correct soon).

Could it be that every so often, Google have to reset the order that Ads appear in, to allow newer ones a chance to appear near the top?

I'm guessing that at the moment I can see a lot of Ads that are bidding on terms that are relevant to my site (e.g. blue widgets) even though they only sell red widgets - and visitors to my site have no interest whatsoever in red widgets.
It probably takes quite a while for the non-performing Ads (i.e. Ads that no one clicks on) to stop appearing.
This process may well be shorter for terms such as "iPhone", but take a lot longer for more niche terms.

This has to do with Analytics being messed up to. Since Tuesday both my Adsense and Analytics data has been off by at least 30%. The Analytics problem was acknowledged by Google but I wouldn't expect the Adsense problem to be.

CTR has tanked today. I've added new content and impressions are strong so one would HOPE it's just a reporting issue that will be resolved with a big click dump.

Our CTR is down by about 40% today. Normal variation is plus or minus around 10% for what seems like years now. Something's wrong today.

I just checked our site (normally, I never visit...). Ads look good / targeted.

I noticed that the AdSense stats for yesterday are updating (increased clicks and revenues from the last time I checked a couple of hours ago).
