Has August 13th Improvement Been Slashed Today?
EPC down by 60% today!

 3:03 pm on Oct 5, 2010 (gmt 0)

I know it's relatively early in the day for some of you but I have already had 1/3 of my normal AdSense daily traffic and earnings however my EPC is diabolical.

Am I alone having one of those "glitch" days or are you as well?

 4:29 pm on Oct 5, 2010 (gmt 0)

Mine seems down today as well, it is getting to the part of the year that things go down a bit already seeing a downward trend.

 4:37 pm on Oct 5, 2010 (gmt 0)

I'm glad I'm not the only one who saw a marked improvement starting on August 13th. It's been up (perhaps 30-50%) ever since.

To answer your question, no, I'm doing okay. Not as good as September so far, but pretty good.

 4:44 pm on Oct 5, 2010 (gmt 0)

Huskypup do not worry Google is running 10-15 algorithm or even more on its engine, So you may see wild fluctuations. Nothing to worry see stats on month to month basis not day to day.

 4:47 pm on Oct 5, 2010 (gmt 0)

I stopped looking at Adsense earnings for the current day. The numbers jump around too much. I look for monthly patterns, not daily.

And on that topic, my eCPM is remarkably stable from month to month.

Did I write I was worried? No, I wrote:

And, surprise, surprise, I do know what an algorithm is:-)

Very bad Monday! (same money as Saturday).
Thursday seems to also... bad :(

Something just changed @ Adsense... this is clear and it's not good for us.

Another optimization for poor, little advertiser?

 7:53 pm on Oct 5, 2010 (gmt 0)

Stats are just stuck, that's all.

 7:54 pm on Oct 5, 2010 (gmt 0)

Mine seem to be doing well.

However, my AdWords account interface is so borked even AdWords Support couldn't get into it. And they're basically two sides of the same system, so maybe something is going on.

 8:11 pm on Oct 5, 2010 (gmt 0)

Looks pretty normal to me. Although eCPM seems lower due to traffic increase. CTR near monthly average.

 8:44 pm on Oct 5, 2010 (gmt 0)

Lowish for this time of day but not drastic. Higher than normal traffic. Lower than normal eCPM and CTR.

 9:48 pm on Oct 5, 2010 (gmt 0)

Today's EPC is still running at nearly 42% below average otherwise I'd be having a storming day, weird.

 12:19 am on Oct 6, 2010 (gmt 0)

Our eCPM today is very high. At 7 pm EST, we already surpassed Monday's earnings

 11:20 am on Oct 6, 2010 (gmt 0)

Well it continued right until the end of the Googleday, my highest click day of 2010 combined with my lowest EPC day producing earnings nearly 15% less than average.

Oh well, at least I got 85% of the way there:-)

 11:30 am on Oct 6, 2010 (gmt 0)

I don't care a damn thing for Google. Just think the opposite way if you are converting for those advertiser you will make more money no matter what Google do.Do not blend too much it will only get lower revenue.Listen to drall, He said it all.

 8:03 pm on Oct 6, 2010 (gmt 0)

Well I do care and for a couple of very important reasons:

1. I am not in the US and Google is my only option, no other ad network has 5-10% of Google's inventory.

2. Google is still the dominant search engine and as such sends me the majority of my organic traffic therefore drastic fluctuations like this should not happen and why not is explained below.

Every now and then Google seems hell bent on getting its knickers in a twist and this, for me, is one of those weeks. I've seen nigh on a 2 months of steady PI/CTR/Earnings however something happened somewhere earlier this week which has upset the apple cart and now G is looking decidely shaky and flaky again.

Whichever switch was flicked thrown it back again, please.

 8:59 pm on Oct 6, 2010 (gmt 0)

I'm seeing an 80+% drop in eCPM on a number of pages.

I'm using Ad Manager and using AdSense to compete/fill when in when another network's ad would not generate as much as AdSense. Interesting to note that it's serving horrible eCPM AdSense ads instead of serving other ad networks as it should. This would lead me to believe there is either a glitch in the ad-bid algo, OR some advertiser is bidding very high w/ low CTR resulting in tons of impressions to determine ECPM, OR some major advertiser dropped out, OR those pages are just crap this month.

In the mean time I've set Ad Manager to not fill with AdSense and just serve the other networks and will turn on for an hour here/there to see if it's fixed itself.

 11:09 pm on Oct 6, 2010 (gmt 0)

CTR...and revenue has been 30% lower today than usual...
it's really frustrating. it started going up and down from the beginning of this month.

today it's been the lowest so far

 11:45 pm on Oct 6, 2010 (gmt 0)

Yes, I also see a 30% cut.

 1:49 am on Oct 7, 2010 (gmt 0)

I'm seeing about a 30-40% cut in EPC today

 1:52 am on Oct 7, 2010 (gmt 0)

Something's up! Similar day here.

 4:45 am on Oct 7, 2010 (gmt 0)

Read what 'Hollywood' posted here

 5:29 am on Oct 7, 2010 (gmt 0)

I don't know how it's for you, but for me today:
Page views OK, Click rate lower, eCPM -30% and total money... horror -30$ and I'm speaking a bout big bucks/day!

Something is fk-up @ G

 5:41 am on Oct 7, 2010 (gmt 0)

Google seems to be well on the way to becoming the Grand Academy of Lagado.

 6:31 am on Oct 7, 2010 (gmt 0)

Weird, I love this glitch :)

Having the best time. I'm in since 2004 but never seen so many revenue last month. This month October will even bring more.

I did some big changes. More ads, better placement, better colors. And seeing some really nice advertisers.

 6:43 am on Oct 7, 2010 (gmt 0)

Read what 'Hollywood' posted here

Interesting. The past few days have felt really weak both in terms of CTR and eCPM while this should be a decent time of the year.

 7:15 am on Oct 7, 2010 (gmt 0)

While everbody was complaining about the 5th, I had my HIGHEST Adsense earnings day ever. Then it was bound to happen... the 6th saw eCPM dive almost vertically. Smart pricing kicks in pretty quick don't you think?

 10:36 am on Oct 7, 2010 (gmt 0)

Compared to all of September until yesterday averages:

Clicks -28%
CTR -31.5%
eCPM -36.2%
Earnings -33.2%

Absolutely nothing's happened has it G?

I have to go back to the July 4th weekend to find such low earnings and end of June for such low eCPM with normal Page Impressions.

It is times like this I absolutely hate the Gorg and their primary school mentality that no one will notice if they tweak it one way or another.

 10:47 am on Oct 7, 2010 (gmt 0)

I'm in the same boat as you, HuskyPup.

Today is not looking good so far either.

 10:17 am on Oct 8, 2010 (gmt 0)

Well I would now appear to be a victim of the "traffic throttling" that has been discussed in the Google SERPs forum therefore I'm now back to where I was with earmngs 3-4 months ago.

My .com sites are running a little less than I would have expected, .co.uk sites are ok HOWEVER ALL my other sites (READ ALL non .com sites) have taken between a 50-70% drop across the board in traffic and some have not earned hardly a thing this past few days.

Checking my SERPs and nothing seems to be out of the ordinary however there obviously is something stopping trafic/visitors coming to those sites since the fall has been so dramatic.

Have any other non .com/co.uk site owners seen similar figures to a 25-30% overall Page Impressions and earnings drop?
