Blocked Ads That I Never Blocked
Surprised to find many good advertisers in my blocked ads list
Whoa

Has anybody else looked at their blocked ads in the Ad Review Center recently and discovered that there are a ton of blocked ads that you never blocked?

It's been a long time since I blocked any ads. After opting in to the new Adsense interface beta, I went to check out the ad blocking functionality.

I was surprised to see tons of great advertisers and ads blocked -- ads that I would never ever have wanted to block.

I've got an inquiry in to the AdSense team but was just wondering if anybody else had this problem?

If you haven't looked at your blocked ads recently and revenues are down, you might want to take a look -- it's possible that you are missing out on good ads simply because of some system error that blocked ads by accident.

If I hear from G, I will let you know --- but if you had the same problem, let me know. Thanks.

I can't see allowing websites that promote "things" that are totally unrelated as to why the visitor was there in the first place. I don't think I want to see "Bob's Bait Shop" ads on a page about php coding for example.

I might be totally wrong, and be throwing away potential income because I don't like to show ads that are unrelated. IMHO that seems like wasting ad space on "perhaps they might be interested" as apposed to "you came here because you were looking for X" so I'd like to show "X" type ads...

enlighten me if I have the wrong take on this...
(not trying to hijack the thread, just a comment)

thanks!

Whoa, I believe there's a setting that blocks ads if you don't approve them. Is it possible you checked that box?
