Can I ask why anyone is interested in this? Genuine question. Can anyone actually do anything if they don't have PiP and should have? Is it simply a race every month to see who can post this quickest? (again, genuine question)

I hit my Adsense account tab once every three months as I need the payment details for my tax forms. I can't honestly tell you if there is PIP or not in the account. I *do* know they always pay in time by looking at the bank account. So, I guess I'm with you. What's this PIP race and what purpose does it serve? Genuinely not knowing either.

I am with you 100% blairsp. To me PIP means Pointless Info Posted. I think it is either an ego thing with some, or they think that because it says PIP that they will get paid quicker. I wish we could filter out these posts altogther.

Lame_Wolf, you can filter out the posts. All you have to do is not click the mouse button whilest hovering over the PIP thread. It's a traditional thread that brings some tiny satisfaction to quite a few people. It hurts no one. No one is forced to read the thread or participate in it. I always find it amusing that some will gripe about what a waste of time the threads are, and yet, they've wasted more time griping than if they'd just ignore them in the first place. I've participated in most of the PIP threads for many years. Harmless communal reassurance, and a long-standing tradition here. I hope it never goes away.

It is comforting since I have 2 checks in the mail that will bounce if G doesn't pay on time. I'll need to quickly transfer money if the post read: 'No More Pips For You!, now leave my pips store'

With me it's both. It boosts my ego knowing that G likes me more by letting me know before everyone else that the payment is being processed and that I am getting paid before everyone else :) | Harmless communal reassurance, and a long-standing tradition here. I hope it never goes away. |

Well its quite shocking to know that someone has received their PIP already! You have to let us know whether you get your Adsense as a check or EFT and also your location because it lets the rest of us know how far "behind" the rest of us are as far as getting our own PIP's. I am in the group that likes these PIP threads and I look to them just to see when someone has posted that they got their PIP because it means that mine can't be too far behind. Another person's trash is another person's jewel!

I like PIP threads, they leting me know when to check my account for a PIP and then go to bank to colect my westernunion transfer. Usually 1-2 days after first PIP reported here I have PIP in my account and then I even dont need to wait for 'Payment issued - details' with westernunion - I just give my name and I got money :)

Yes especially in these tough times it's good to know ASAP when you likely have money coming in -- even if you already know about the "last week with less than 5 days" rule.

I like PIP threads. Of course, it is not of a huge importance, but it's a tradition every month at WW and has been for quite a few years. Just lets others know that they've gotten their PIP and yours shouldn't be far behind. Hurts no one, don't read them if you don't like them, my two cents!

Although my join-date might indicate otherwise (I've been a heavy-duty lurker), I haven't been 'in' for that long. However, I do agree wholeheartedly. There's nothing wrong with some communal happiness!

I'm always out of beer! My PIP was dated 20th Nov however this bears no relationship to reality when having cheque payments since I have only just received this morning October's cheque thanks, I would reckon, to the U.K. postal strike. Normally they arrive within the week. One consolation is that if this month's is normal I'll have loadsa beer money to play with:-)

Well, I'm never out of beer. I was a longstanding PIP hater and was not reluctant to make that fact known. Mods have even warned me. It is harmless though. I had to take a good hard look at WHY I was so virulent against these threads and the only conclusion I could come up with was this inadequacy thing because my earnings had fallen so low. I'm much more comfortable now with my poverty. Ramen noodles aren't so bad after all...

I look for this thread every month and it is comforting to know that I may get paid on Wed, before Thanksgiving instead of it carrying over to December. For me it's a matter of whether I pay my house payment before it's due or after. Would love it if I knew for sure that on the 26th or whatever day Google chooses, the bank drops my EFT. Until then, I'll be here looking for the PIP thread :) By the Way, HAPPY THANKSGIVING to everyone!

Rodney, nobody has a PIP just yet. Google will do what's right for the economy. PIP will show up on payments page within 2 hours from now. Being 11:30 ET, make that 8:30 am PT, which means they're just cranking up the coffee machine at the Googleplex. Once the techs have some java inside them, the PIP machine will get a kick-start and the US economy will begin to churn again as Adsense publishers begin spending. Note that the stock market is currently down as well. Dow down >50 points. Wall Street is waiting for the PIP as well ;-) It's important for G to have the bulk of the funds out to people by Wednesday so they can spend on Black Friday, which means PIP should appear very soon. BTW: Not liking a thread is very much like not liking a radio show. You have the option of turning it off or paying it no heed. Personally, I enjoy the PIP threads. They provide a little bit of levity in a world that takes itself far too seriously.

PIP on my account dated 24/11/09. EFT in the UK It appeared halfway when I was looking at previous month's earnings. One second it wasn't there, then it was!

WolfLover: I'm in the midwest USA and get a paper check. PIP was 11/20 I usually get my check about a week after PIP shows up in my account. [I really should switch to electronic transfer I guess, just haven't bothered to do so]
