Seem to be a problem with Montreal area. Today, I receive a duplicate of the check I receive last week. Same everything. Try to contact Adsense, but can't find the exact body to reach. I already cash the fist check. Waiting for advise for the second. This one will look great in my "uncash check collection". I have already one from Montreal Canadiens, sign by Jean Beliveau. Never cash it. Amount are to small.

Cash one! Don't get greedy... and have problems on the back side... besides, your bank will probably query why duplicate and not honor either one!

I guess when you deposit second Check it will be rejected by clearing Bank (and may considered as a FRAUD and reported to Law enforcing agencies)

| I wouldn't even think about depositing it if I were you. I like what Lame_Wolf said. Frame it.

Thanks for the answers. Cashing the second check was never an option. The checks are in the 5 figure range, and I was just wondering if perhaps Google was aware of the duplicate problem and may have canceled both checks - so when I presented 1 to the bank it would bounce. I'll give it a day or two and then deposit one, and as suggested - frame the other, and see what happens. Adsense really needs some easier way of contacting them.

Was your check made out to "Johnny 5" and they figured you needed some more input?

It happened to me in Toronto today, too. I received the first last week (and deposited it). The 2nd arrived today and had the identical cheque number (as I saved the piece of paper attached to the original cheque).

Exact same thing as GeorgeK. I had already received my check last week and I received another one yesterday here in Toronto (with exact same details) I have contacted Google, but I will be destroying it anyway. It would be theft to cash it in (whether you get caught or not) Or are they rewarding us for our extra effort by doubling our income? haha jk

This may sound silly but if these are all Canadian accounts how come you folks don't use EFT?

Because they insist on doing transfers in "local currency", which means $CDN, which means Google converts from US to CDN on whatever that day's exchange rate is, with their "average" service fees on the exchange. I have a US-funds bank account, which allows me to deposit the check and wait for an appropriate time to do the conversion using a local firm that has much smaller margins. The CDN/US dollar is up and down like a yoyo, and picking the right time to convert is important to maximizing earnings (especially since AS keeps falling and falling).

Finally got an email from Google today, telling us this was an error on part of the bank and to basically destroy the second one.

Google sent out an email this morning, that confirmed the processing error with the duplicate cheques, and just said to destroy one of them.
