I've been blessed with above average earnings this month. Actually ever since mid June when I changed to the large font on all my sites, I've had higher CTR and ECPM.

Low earnings, but its expected giving the summer season. People are thinking about or going on a holiday, so non-travel related sites are likely to see a dent in their traffic.

Very different earnings. Sunday best day since 4th January July 1..7 every day CTR below monthly average
July 8..13 every day CTR above monthly average Between worst and best day 1:2,41 span of earning

Main channel with the bulk of traffic:
Jul ECPM 22% down from Jun ECPM
Jul ECPM 27% down from May ECPM
- EPC today is horrible - traffic growing slowly, organically
- plenty of advertisers shown in AdSense Preview Tool

Yes. Any ideas why? I've been told I was smart priced....my traffic is doing well, tons of clicks. Clicks are worth near nothing....I'd be making a good sum a year ago....

My case: Compared to last year july, less earnings, 15% less.
The problem is I have way more traffic and two more websites :( so at the end the difference is more than 15%

Just made my July stats again. The second July week is complete different from the first. For the whole July now again, little bit higher CTR than in June. Earnings average is also little bit up compared to June.

Starting back when they announced the different font sizes and up until last weekend, I had great earnings - almost as good as back in 2003 or 2004. Then, since last Saturday's maintenance, my total earnings for the entire 6-day period has been less than what I earned normally in just one day. I'm still getting the same trafic and seeing the same ads. Both the CTR and EPC are in the tank. If it's a matter of AdSense paying like crazy, then it's almost like they do that sometimes then flip a switch and turn it off for a while. It's almost enough to make a person start thinking of conspiracy theories. FarmBoy

Same here. One theory: Increasing the font size has increased clicks so much that daily budjets run over, and are cut back the next day.

Last 3 days money, i normally earn in one day. Organic traffic is also up 20% so i should be up a lot. It's bad, I hope things change. Seems every time i get my traffic up earnings tank, it's pretty demotivating. [edited by: Dave_Hybrid at 2:48 pm (utc) on July 17, 2009]

Heh, me too. Hard not to take it personally, although of course, there's nothing personal about it. I hope to have my own direct advertising setup finished by the end of August, which should render AdSense truly incremental income.

Perhaps it's the quality of that traffic causing your earnings to tank. Wrong keywords, bad source, etc.

But what about the publishers who never seem to be negatively affected by maintenance? My earnings are down compared to a year ago, but I think that is mostly due to my own actions, blocking image ads, etc.

Today with about 3 1/2 hours to go, is the absolute worst I have ever seen. So far today is equal to 1/2 an hours worth from years ago. CTR down a fair bit, EPC is right through the floor.
