Hi,

We started a bog in blogger some 2 months back. A couple of days back, I found that my blog has started showing adsense ads at the bottom of each post.

The fact is that we had never enrolled for an Adsense account! The how is this possible ?

Also, when I click on the Monetise section , I see that the first option "Display ads in my sidebar and posts
Recommended. Ads will be displayed in your sidebar and below each post." is chosen by default.

Pls let me know your comments

Thanks,
Suvro

That's probably a question for Blogger.

Ever wondered how they were ever going to pay for all that free space they offer you?

I wonder why Blogger would post ads on content they don't have control of. What if you talk about mature things?

What i conclude is that, even if i have not opted for an Adsense program, these Adsense ads are still generated automatically in my Blog.

Now, what if I want to start an Adsense account now? What will happen to these Ads then ?

Pls let me know your comments
Thanks

I had Adsense before I started playing with Blogger so I am not sure how it works for new customers.

Making some big guesses I suspect that something was done by mistake (either yourse or theirs) to turn the ads on and they automatically added Adsense to your Google account. Blogger, Adsense, Adwords and Webmaster Tools (and probably a few more services) are all accessed through the same userid and password. Have you simply tried logging in to Adsense to see what has happened from that side?

I did try to login to the Adsense account with the same id as that of the blogger account.

The Adsense account simply does not exist.

Blogger does not show ads on your blog unless you have linked your AdSense account to your Blogger account and enabled ads between posts (which you can do on the "Monetize" tab). I've followed up with the engineers, who confirm that this is the only way to get AdSense ads to show on your blog.

Suvro, I'll follow up with you privately to see if there's any way to prove that something weird is happening here.

"We started a bog in blogger some 2 months back."

"We" - It sounds like one of your blog partner(s) has linked the blog to their Adsense account.
