Oops! Looks like the stats have called off the strike--have now caught up to normal or above for this time of day.

Well, stats appear to be functioning again. Still a poor day though.

Back in the day, stats used to only update a couple times a day, (never real time) as far as I remember. You guys are just spoiled :) [edited by: CWebguy at 1:21 am (utc) on May 28, 2009]

Yes we're spoiled! But dammit, I can't live without my hourly adsense refresh!

I'm actually having a pretty good day today. So what I'm going to do is take a screen shot of the stats around 11:50PM. From now when the live stats are "stuck" I'll just take a look at the picture instead ;)

| Normally I'd look every day or so depending on what else was on my plate. Today? Contrary to posts here my stats have gone bananas and now are 3 X the average of recent weeks. So I've actually looked three times today and will probably look again in about 4 hours time. Gee, today is almost up to one hours earnings of years and years ago. Why all this day to day volatility? I don't know, I've largely given up wondering, just go with the flow. On a bad day have a beer, on a good day crack a bottle or two of wine.

Yeah, adsense looks more and more like the stock market everyday, up and down, up and down

Times sure have changed in AdSense land. In 2005, I'd have made over three times what I did today for the same amount of clicks.

| That is entirely a mathematical function of EPC. Not one of my concerns at all, I'm not unhappy with my EPC, just the steadily decreasing CTR which is a different matter altogether. Anyone want to have a bet on the theory that "clicks" are now backed out if your visitor hits the back button? I have no complaint about that but it would be nice to factually know.

My traffic has gone up since 2005, not 3x, but it has gone up. The idea that I need to triple it just to get back to 2005 levels just isn't happening. While this may indeed be a simple matter of EPC, the bottom line is that I need a Herculean earnings rebound. Oddly enough, thanks to the fantastic month of September, I remain optimistic that earnings will once again go up (delusional as that sounds). [edited by: Play_Bach at 8:48 am (utc) on May 28, 2009]

| On a bad day, drown your sorrow. On a good day, get drunk to celebrate. As for differentiation: it's all about mood ;)

Yes, CTR was down about 50% so no surprise earnings reflected that.
