>>>06.03.2009 - slow start...
It's only 4:30 AM in East Coast of the United States, people are still asleep. Who's clicking?
I understand the U.S. isn't the center of the world, I've lived outside of the United States for a time as an adult. However in terms of PPC and Internet consumer product consumption, yes, it is. It's only an hour and half into the new day on the West Coast, far too early to worry about stuck stats. ;)
10:40 am on Mar 6, 2009 (gmt 0)
Center of my world is France and I'm already 6 hours into my earning day. Don't get any US visitors so maybe I'm missing something!

Asia 650,361,843 users
Europe 390,141,073 users
N. America 246,822,936 users

It's not a coincidence that those who complain of stuck stats are generally from outside of the US. It is consistent that those complaining of stuck stats do it while the US is asleep. This not a coincidence.

Just an awful start to the day, and generally things have been awful since the March 4 system tweakfest.
I'm in Canada and i'm used to seeing upwards of 20 clicks when i fire the comp up at 7am. This morning: 2. An hour later: still 2. I'm not sure where the problem lies, whether its poorly targeted ads or what, but "I" didn't make any changes. Be nice if the Google experts would weigh in honestly about why this happens. From the posts on this board, it's obviously not an isolated phenomenon.
1:24 pm on Mar 6, 2009 (gmt 0)
Nope. Go to the Adsense Forums and you will see a crecent trend of posts about people complaining about ecpm, CTR, earnings, and alike.
Yesterday it behave like today, but at the end of the day it behaved better. Missing clicks coming back to me? Still, my earnings were lower.
And each day, each day, earnings go south, little by little... 0.5% less, another 0.5% less, 2% less... Wow
1:58 pm on Mar 6, 2009 (gmt 0)
I have noticed a huge drop too- that is why I came to this thread. At least I am not alone. Funnily enough a few days before this slow down we had 3 times what we normally earn for a day now its a dribble. Our traffic is the same.
What's going on?
2:38 pm on Mar 6, 2009 (gmt 0)
Well, CTR is abysmally low today, but I guess that just happens. People should stop making these 'stuck' threads every ten minutes.
3:44 pm on Mar 6, 2009 (gmt 0)
I'm even more convinced that stats aren't necessarily same day.
I have custom search engines on many of my sites. This morning I had impressions & clicks for searches on one of them, but no impressions for the *page* or *site* that particular custom search engine is on.
I don't plan on taking any stats for less than a week seriously - and 30 days is better.
3:56 pm on Mar 6, 2009 (gmt 0)
Well my ecpm sucks so far today as do my earnings.
Yesterday was terrible. Ended 30% less than the day before.
Generally my earnings are quite stable, until the tweaks and then I lose money every time. It's never ever for the better. EVER.
5:21 pm on Mar 6, 2009 (gmt 0)
It's never ever for the better. EVER.
It is for G!$!$
At least I've now had a mini click dump, about halfway to where I would normally expect to be.
Since these problems started this week my metrics compared to Jan 1st to March 2nd are:
Daily Earnings -23.42%
Coincidence? I think not! The reality is something is very fubard and we're the ones who are on the receiving end of it.

I do some supplemental good arbitrage and have things divided up in silos.
Western EU: Good
So it is off but just for North America.
5:47 pm on Mar 6, 2009 (gmt 0)
One of my sites significantly lost traffic with the yahoo update. Then in the last week, my adsense on my other sites has dropped down 3/4 or MORE. So I have lost 3/4 of my adsense income. I have cleared out my competitive ad filter and am adding ads back, wondering if I was smart priced. Stats are slow, they are incorrect as far as impressions... and just low low low low.
5:57 pm on Mar 6, 2009 (gmt 0)
I have been working on my site when they did the adjustment and the stats aren't stuck it appears the targeting changed. I am seeing ads for unrelated topics.
6:59 pm on Mar 6, 2009 (gmt 0)
I don't know about stuck stuff, but I can't seem to run any reports. First it just hung, and now it says
There was an error in generating the report you requested. Please try again later.
7:01 pm on Mar 6, 2009 (gmt 0)
Yep, me too - tried to run the "This month, by day" and i get "Report generation failed". Methinks the tweaking is still ongoing?
7:04 pm on Mar 6, 2009 (gmt 0)
There was an error in generating the report you requested. Please try again later.
Yep, me toooo...this is getting beyond a joke!
10:31 pm on Mar 6, 2009 (gmt 0)
The only thing stuck on my stats in the $ 0.00 everything else moves but slowly.
4:43 am on Mar 7, 2009 (gmt 0)
Wow - impressions are WAY above normal, earnings comparatively low. Stats look to be in a serious state of flux. I'm with netmeg on this, trying to make sense of these stats on a daily basis is probably pointless.
5:11 am on Mar 7, 2009 (gmt 0)
Whenever stats stuck, I lost 30-50% income for that day. When I posted same on Google forum, they said no income data was lost. I do not believe them :(
8:00 am on Mar 7, 2009 (gmt 0)
Apparently there was a bug with targeting on Adsense for Content but it is now fixed:
Ever since Google involved Doubleclick the targeting has gone to hell.
10:04 am on Mar 7, 2009 (gmt 0)
That was on 5 march.
6 march for me is even worse...
10:40 am on Mar 7, 2009 (gmt 0)
The effect was clearly visible on 6 March. Earnings for 5 March were not too bad. Today seems to be improving but it is very early yet. I had to add a pile of doublecrap junk to the filter.
1:05 pm on Mar 7, 2009 (gmt 0)
March 5th was bad, March 6th slightly worse.
Today ecpm is down even more but as you say, too early to tell yet.
Insane. March 5th Echotopic earned 50% more than Adsense.
1:20 pm on Mar 7, 2009 (gmt 0)
7 th March... still way down...earnings are 1/5th of normal...
2:26 pm on Mar 7, 2009 (gmt 0)
I dont get it! First the CPC went down and now the CTR!
March 5th & 6th showed the lowest CTR in TWO YEARS!
And today there is no difference!
eCPM is just awful.

I'm hoping the system is still a little sick as I do not like this downward trajectory one bit.
4:25 pm on Mar 7, 2009 (gmt 0)
I'm 1/5th too! Also, my worst month on YEARS on my well established site (more than 170k uniques IP daily), reference on my country. From old UPS club (with special honors!) to nowhere in the hell! I just can't belive it, seems nightmare.
5:05 pm on Mar 7, 2009 (gmt 0)
Holy crap. Just checked my stars while I'm out. Ecpm is 1/2 what it was before march 4th/ 5th.
I really hope something is wrong and this is not the new norm. I'll be gutted.
Adsense advisor please come along and put us out of our mysery.
This update seems to have effected the largest percentage of people I've seen. I just wish google were more transparent.
