We use adsense on our site, and also host tags on our pages from third party media agencies such as etype and Adjug who serve higher paying CPM ads from their customers.
As a default "house filler" they use our adsense code relevant to the size of the banner space in question, to be served in geographical domains outside a campaign, or if there is limited inventory.
This works fine, however I have two questions:
1. Does anyone else do this and have they observed lower google eCPMs on adsense ads served as fillers by third parties?
2. We note a discrepancy between our google adsense page view statistics and those in our analytics stats. This is roughly double the page impressions indicated by adsense compared to Analytics. Could this huge skewing of the stats be caused by google adsense counting a page with hard coded adsense code, and adsense code served through third party tags as TWO OR MORE page impressions? Any views would be really helpful
