Pip March 2008

 1:33 pm on Mar 26, 2008 (gmt 0)

Seems that I have the honour this month: Payment In Progress here in Greece for February earnings(unfortunately still without EFT so it will be a while until it gets into my bank account)

 3:29 pm on Mar 26, 2008 (gmt 0)

For me too... I am here in the middle east...

 7:46 pm on Mar 26, 2008 (gmt 0)

Usually I see PIP the 26th of every month...not seeing it yet today though... TN/USA

 11:18 pm on Mar 26, 2008 (gmt 0)

Same here! I'm on the East Coast - Philadelphia area and I just checked 7:19pm - still no PIP!

Reminds me of December's payment where those outside the US were getting their PIP's and it was thought that since those out of the US took longer to actually get their payment that was why they were getting their PIP's first!

Usually when someone posts that they got their PIP payment in the US it means that my PIP will show up withing the next 24 hours.

This time someone from Greece has posted first - so I don't know WHAT that is gonna mean for us in the states!

 11:48 pm on Mar 26, 2008 (gmt 0)

Weyhey, I'm in the UK and I have just looked and my payment is in progress :)

This is my first payment so i got a quick question :)
Whats the average time for payment to be processed so I can view the currency exchange details, and also - what is the standard time for a cheque to arrive ( Im in the UK )

Cheers guys, enjoy your earnings! I'll be down the pub with mine :D

 12:00 am on Mar 27, 2008 (gmt 0)

It's really hard to say since I'm from the states. Hopefully someone from the UK will be able to help you better.

If you're getting your adsense payment by check - for me when I used to get it by check I would give it about 5 business days to actually get to me.

The "pub"! Reminds me about this show that was on my PBS station about pubs in the UK - looks like everybody was having a grand ole time!

 1:07 am on Mar 27, 2008 (gmt 0)

Well when you get your adsense check - have one on us!

'cause I'm sure a LOT of us wouldn't mind getting a little bit drunk (maybe even a LOT drunk - LOL!

 2:06 am on Mar 27, 2008 (gmt 0)

I guess at a certain time we should just give up looking and wait until tommorrow to see the PIP. I mean I don't know if the PIP shows up after a certain time and since the payment process procedure that adsense follows is not know too much in detail then I guess that the waiting time will be longer )-:

 5:12 am on Mar 27, 2008 (gmt 0)

Just got mine late today, West Coast USA...KF

 1:12 pm on Mar 27, 2008 (gmt 0)

No Pip Today - USA - CA ( Usually have the payment in the bank by today..hmmm. It says at the top of the page I'm set up for payment on the 30th. To be honest I don't usually look at my PIP so it may say this all the time...hopefully it's not true! ;)

I noticed that there is another PIP thread for March 2008. About 18 messages in that thread - but this one is the original!

I checked my own "payment history" today - 5:40pm - still no PIP for me - East Coast-EFT

I would LOVE to know what kind of payment process Adsense has!

 10:46 pm on Mar 27, 2008 (gmt 0)

pip-pip va

 11:33 pm on Mar 27, 2008 (gmt 0)

OK, got my PIP!

East Coast - EFT

Now with all of my complaining I should be and I am grateful 'cause if it didn't show up today then it may have showed up tommorrow which is a Friday which meant I wouldn't get the payment until at least Monday!

BTW - how is everybody able to post those "smilies" on their posts?

where is it?

....sorry, just wanted to be the first to talk about this month :)

 5:07 pm on Mar 27, 2008 (gmt 0)

This is most disturbing. Here we are on the 27th of the month with no PIP! For the past 3 years, the latest I've ever been paid was on the 27th.
Based on ALL of the technical problems of late and now this, I have to wonder if this is the beginning of some really tough times with Google?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

 5:28 pm on Mar 27, 2008 (gmt 0)

Google specifies your payment will be made by the last day of the month. So what if they've always been nice before now and paid a few days early? If they haven't paid by the end of the month, THEN you can start sweating. And if you don't get it by the 5th of next month, THEN you can complain to Google about it. :)

 5:28 pm on Mar 27, 2008 (gmt 0)

This is the latest (usa) it has been in almost two years, with the exception of August 2007. That month the 27th was a Monday, and they never go pip on the weekend, so it made sense.

This month, the Monday was 24th, really should have gone pip on or before Wednesday the 26th according to the past two years. The 26th has almost always been the latest.

On one occassion, when the pip was posted to our account, we had already received the money EFT. This time, there is no EFT posted to our account.

Though Adsense says publishers are due to be paid by the 30th of the month, after that being "late", when compared to the last two years(usa) it is today "later" than normal.

Added to the fact we made 40% less yesterday than an average fourth Wednesday, I find both these factors of concern.

Adsense is the second of our partners to pay late/later this month. Another, normally paying the 17th to the 20th, NEVER, EVER later, paid us this month on the 24th. Their terms say specifically we WILL be paid on the 20th of each month. Early pays were a result of the 20th falling on the weekend.

After a month of very dismal usa economic news, I REALLY hope these late/later pays are not a sign the major dot coms are about to take a huge slide. The partners are always the last to know.

Here, locally ... SIX major restaurants have closed down in the past month. In a town of less than 10,000, it is alot. Add the other three that closed down within the past year, and all the other businesses and factories that have closed, it is not hard to see how I might be getting anxious about 'late/later' dot com account receivables.

I have sub-contractors here depending on me to help them feed their families, with very little work to be found locally. It is those I worry about the most. These revenue partners I have, account for the 'extra' money I have to put locals to work in 'make work' projects.

----"So what if they've always been nice before now and paid a few days early?"

What do you mean, so what? All I'm pointing out is that Google was a very well-oiled machine for several years. Their Adsense Website has been very unreliable lately, eCPMs are ALL OVER THE PLACE, and now, they seem to be breaking a very long tradition of paying their earners (ie: ALL OF US) before the 27th.

I'm not saying they are violating any of their own policies YET. I'm just wondering what the heck is going on in Mountain View, CA?

And, more to the point, (since sh** flows downhill) what will this mean for us?

 8:10 pm on Mar 27, 2008 (gmt 0)

Analysts are already concerned about Google delivering a bad quarter, so it only makes sense for them to milk as much interest income as they can in the final few days of the period by waiting until tomorrow to send out the funds.

PIP will be here soon.

 8:47 pm on Mar 27, 2008 (gmt 0)

I am not at all surprised. All of the American dotcom companies have hit watershed moments. Google is just another in a long string of major US firms that are hitting hard times. If they lose their grip on advertising and the internet as a whole, it's probably for the best. Competition is good. PIP? Someday, maybe, but I gotta tell ya, the good times... they are over.

BTW: PIP in upstate NY.

Take that Ron.

The good times are over? Dang, just when March looks like being my best month in over a year!

 9:17 pm on Mar 27, 2008 (gmt 0)

PIP. Upstate NY, USA EFT.

Let the good times roll. Take Tennessee, Xavier, North Carolina and Western Kentucky in tonight's NCAA games. All winners (against the spread).

Rock on!
