Adsense Doubts.
How should i proceed using adsense on my first website..

 2:55 pm on Jan 26, 2008 (gmt 0)

Hello all
This is my first post and i am very excited to start over...

I Build my first website around a week ago...

I have not made the main homepage yet...

The question that i have are..
1)I got around 18 clicks on my ads Yesterday and all i made was $2
one day i had just one click and i had made $0.50 can any one explain what happened over here?

2)Then if i include adsense code within my post, then will it be related to that post only? i mean will adsense put ads related to the heading of my post?
Also is this a good way of putting ads?

3)I saw at one post , people said that wait for a few months before you put your adsense code..
Should that be followed..as in after getting the site some ranking and all?

4)How many ads can i put on my blog?
As after putting more than 4.. the others started to disappear and the new ones came...so the total remained 4...

First... welcome to Webmaster World! You may want to take a moment to read the Webmaster World (WW) terms of service. They do not allow you to post URL's to your websites. The mods will likely remove this shortly.

1. Advertisers pay different prices for clicks. Sometimes you may get $0.05 clicks. Other times, you may receive $0.50 clicks.

2. Not sure what you mean by "post". Adsense is designed to be delivered through web pages (not emails or forum posts). If you have questions about ad locations on your site or blog, you should visit: Adsense Help [google.com]

3. A lot of people will suggest waiting to place Adsense code on your site until after it has gained a traffic reputation. After all, you will not get clicks without traffic. If your site already has a steady flow of quality traffic, there is no reason why you can't place Adsense ads the very first day.

4. Again, you will want to read through the Adsense Help pages (link above) for questions about number of ads per page, ad location suggestions, etc.

Good luck!

anuj, I think by post you mean "article".

As I understand it, the adsense adverts are chosen based on the entire page's text, not just the main article. However, the article will heavily influence the choice if it's much longer than the text on the rest of the page.

i have removed the link as u said..

Anuj, I will also encourage you to spend some time on Adsense help pages by Google and then more research on AdSense related blogs and websites. There is enormous info on the web and you will thank yourself for taking the time to do it.

You need to read the adSense TOS very carefully. And then re read it.
You may know, that you get only one shot at adSense. If you are banned, it is for life. No second chances.

Get your website in order first, then add adSense.. If you have a poor site giving a poor user experience, you may see all clicks go to 1 cent. This is called smart pricing. Read up on it on the forum.

Best Wishes.

Is it possible? how come your site got famous so fast and visitors started flowing to your website? From my knowledge after 200 pages of unique visit pages there are chances of getting 15 to 20 clicks, Its great to know you got 18 clicks in one day and that too after just few days after not even creating a homepage your website rocks man...

you are going to make great bucks in future from google adsense OR ELSE your account might get BANNED

for what? might be you are the one or someone around your freinds are clicking on your ads

Just an doubt.... :-) wish you best of luck

Welcome to Adsense family
