Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a little help with one of the websites I run, it's a large music site PR5 with inbounds from hundreds of .edu's .gov, DMOZ listed and also has inbounds from answers.google.com, about.com etc. In a nutshell, i think it has great potential to make money from adsense which I have not fully utilised so far.

At the moment I have a few adsense ads here and there but it doesn't make any good amount of money, probably a few hundred dollars per month.

My question is, has anyone had any success with making money from adsense with music related sites?

A steer in the right direction would not go wrong here! I'm sure this site is beeming with potential but I'm missing some obvious points.

Any advice much appreciated.

Adsense is not so much about inbound links, wherever they are from - but it is about visitor numbers.

But music is a fickle business, and many names will not attract many visitors at all, and fewer still who will utilize adsense.

Also, depending on the content of your site, you may be attracting 'the wrong kind of visitor'; it may be worth your while experimenting with other items, eg Amazon affiliate ads, which may do much, much better.

It's a fact of life that there are many, many very similar music sites; you need to think hard about your USP, and how to make that work for you.

I have a couple of niche sites in a related industry; both have similar visitor numbers; one does well on adsense, one does zero - all public service ads. Both do about the same on Amazon sales (not bad at all).
