Hi everyone,

We have another round of routine system maintenance scheduled for Saturday, July 29 (tomorrow) at 10:00am PDT.

As many of you already know, you may not be able to access your account during this time period. However, rest assured that your Google ads will continue to show, and your account stats and earnings will continue to accrue as normal.

Thanks for your patience!

-ASA

Fellow publishers, get ready for "DeepHeat"

It's fun naming those updates/outages!

Now repeat after me:
My Google who art in the GooglePlex, contextual be thy name, forgive the lost publishers who have "clicked", and send them not our way, smartprice us not, and may thy algo be merciful upon us all.

ASA, thanks for the heads-up.

For all of us not au fait with PDT (I always have to look it up), 10am PDT is 5pm (17:00 hours) UTC, so for Europe that translates into "early Saturday evening".

If you happen to bump into the engineers before then, ask them if they can nudge the big red dial to the right a little, I hear it has got pigeon feathers stuck in the mechanism which need shifting.

We worship the almighty, Sergey Brin and Larry Page, who gave birth to the blessed child known as Adsense.

So what do you think DeepHeat brings?
(other than cold sweat)

interface change?
smartpricing algo update?
MFA repellants?
New ad format?
...

Certianly something to hack-out the MFAs from the other side.

To every action...

Watch the Goog stock.

How do you take something that is worth X-Y to X2, remove -Y and tell everyone that X no longer is held back by -Y and X expands.

And just as my metrics were getting back to "normal"!

I suppose the update after DeepHeat ought to be called AfterSun:-)

Yeah, my stats coming back to normal. These maintenance periods usually screw me up :( So it'll be bad numbers for the next few days for me.

"AdWords is temporarily down due to system maintenance until approximately 4:00pm PST [?] on July 29. Please note that your campaigns are running normally during this short downtime. We apologize for any inconvenience."

What will I do for the next hours?

Good question,
Lookup the words "adsense addiction" on Google, that should change your life or at least occupy you for a couple of hours, or visit my site, it's full of ads on "new and used lives" and even discounted ones too ;-)
I wish I was allowed to click on those!

This may take awhile to load, but it is access to the logon screen for you all you that can't seem to kick the habit.

Would it be possible to have the ASA posts (or others by Google reps) highlighted in a contrasting color (yellow, green etc.) so that they stand out visually from all the rest?
